Qualifications

RM Insurance Broking Private Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Non-Motor Underwriter to join its team in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The successful candidate will evaluate and underwrite non-motor risks, guide a team of junior underwriters, and support the organisation's sales and client servicing functions with sound technical judgement. This position is based in Rajasthan.Key ResponsibilitiesRisk Assessment and UnderwritingEvaluate and underwrite non-motor risks, including property, liability and marine lines, in line with company guidelines and prevailing market trends.Analyse risks, coverage requirements and pricing to determine appropriate terms and conditions.Ensure compliance with internal underwriting policies and applicable external regulations.Team Leadership and MentorshipLead and mentor a team of junior underwriters, providing guidance and support on underwriting decisions and technical matters.Assist in training new team members on underwriting processes and best practices.Client and Stakeholder InteractionSupport the sales and business development teams in understanding underwriting requirements and responding to complex client queries.Review and optimise pricing strategies, taking into account market conditions, competition and emerging risks.Engage with insurance companies to obtain bespoke products and contingent policies tailored to client needs.Claims Support and CoordinationCollaborate with the claims team to ensure the underwriting process aligns with claims handling practices.Review claims trends and provide input on risk management strategies to help reduce future claims.Market Research and Product DevelopmentKeep abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings and emerging risks to ensure underwriting practices remain competitive.Provide input into the development and refinement of insurance products.RequirementsMinimum of 10 years of experience in non-motor underwriting, with a focus on property, liability or marine lines of business.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Insurance, Finance or a related field.Relevant professional certifications, such as Associate or Fellowship of the Insurance Institute of India, are an advantage.Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.In-depth knowledge of the insurance industry, market dynamics, regulatory requirements and insurance products.Proficiency in underwriting software and MS Office.Ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies to arrange bespoke and contingent policies.Compensation and LocationAnnual package of 8 to 10 LPA.Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan.
