Job summary

Fluor Corp in India seeks a senior Civil Engineer to lead medium-sized projects focused on hydrologic analysis, hydraulic design, and underground drainage. Responsibilities include specifications, calculations, and vendor document reviews.

The role requires a four-year Civil Engineering degree with extensive experience, strong communication, software proficiency, and potential professional registration. Coordination with the Home Office and site delivery are essential.

Qualifications

  • Accredited four (4) year degree in Civil Engineering and seven to twenty years of experience; professional certification if required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, cost of materials.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review specifications, including design criteria.
  • Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of moderate or complex engineering problems.
  • Review vendor equipment documentation for compliance with project requirements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity.
  • Perform Material Take Off and effort Estimation for proposals based on inputs.
  • Hydraulic design for UG utilities like Storm water and Sanitary systems.
  • Co-ordination with Home Office (Civil team) for interface queries and timely resolution.
  • Assist in developing basic layout drawings for civil works to be used in working drawings.
  • Evaluate infrastructure requirements and manage storm water systems.

Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and perform the work listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position supports the Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects or evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques to a medium set of moderately difficult assignments.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Four (4) year degree in Civil Engineering or global equivalent in engineering field of study and minimum of 7 years of work-related experience in Civil & Underground drainage work; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required.

  • Develop and review specifications, including design criteria

  • Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of moderate or complex engineering problems

  • Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution

  • Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines other duties as assigned

  • Perform Material Take off and effort Estimation for proposals based on inputs.

  • Expert knowledge in Hydrologic analysis and hydraulic design, geotechnical engineering and investigations, boundary and topographical surveying (civil)

  • Mining & Metal Project Exposures Added Advantage

  • Proficient in using civil Engineering software such as Sanitary & Storm Analysis, InfoDrainage or any Hydraulic analysis software

  • Managing and leading a medium size project independently

  • Experience in developing & checking civil drawings like Grading, Bulk earthwork and Heavy Haul Road, Access Road alignment

  • Hydraulic design for UG utilities like Storm water, Sanitary etc.

  • Shall ensure compliance with Industry standard procedures and project requirements.

  • Co‑ordination with Home Office (Civil team) for any interface queries and its timely resolution

  • Assists in the development of basic layout drawings for civil works or other purposes to be used in working drawings

  • Evaluating infrastructure requirement & managing storm water system

Basic Job Requirements
  • Accredited four (4) year degree in Civil Engineering or global equivalent in engineering field of study and seven (7) to twenty (20) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors

  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job

  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines

  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time‑conscious and time‑effective manner

  • Professional registration and membership in technical society (preferred)

  • Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials

  • Practical field experience

  • Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e‑mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid‑point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
