Job summary

Learnfly in Gurugram Sector 74A is seeking an experienced General Accountant to independently manage day-to-day accounting, maintain accurate books and ensure timely statutory compliance.

This is a hands-on accounting and bookkeeping position, not a Financial Analyst role. The candidate must be based in or near Gurugram and willing to work onsite five days a week.

Retired accounting professionals who are professionally active and comfortable with accounting software are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Relevant experience in general accounting, bookkeeping, GST and TDS.
• Hands-on experience with Zoho Books, Tally or similar accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts.
• Record sales, purchases, receipts, payments and journal entries.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank, vendor, customer and ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare and review Profit and Loss statements, balance sheets and other accounting reports.
• Handle GST accounting, reconciliations and return-related documentation.
• Manage TDS calculations, deductions, payments and return-related documentation.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and payable obligations.
• Verify invoices, expense claims and supporting documents.
• Maintain clean and well-organized accounting records.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Prepare records and supporting documents for audits and statutory compliance.
• Coordinate with Chartered Accountants, auditors and tax consultants when required.
• Support payroll-related accounting and other routine finance activities, when needed.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Relevant experience in general accounting, bookkeeping, GST and TDS.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and Indian statutory compliance.
• Hands-on experience with Zoho Books, Tally or similar accounting software.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to prepare and understand P&L statements, balance sheets and reconciliations.
• Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Calm, composed, dependable and trustworthy.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be based in Gurugram or a nearby location.
• Must be comfortable working onsite five days a week.
• Must be available to work from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM IST.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience independently managing accounts for a small or medium-sized business.
• Comfortable performing hands-on accounting work rather than only supervising others.
• Organized, methodical and consistent in maintaining financial records.
• Retired or semi-retired accounting professionals are welcome, provided they are professionally active and comfortable working onsite during the required shift.

Important: This is a general accounting and bookkeeping role. It does not involve financial modelling, investment analysis, equity research or other Financial Analyst responsibilities.
