Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a GCP Data Engineer for a Kolkata-based engagement. The role requires extensive hands-on experience with data warehousing on GCP, including BigQuery and SQL/PL.

You will work with BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Dataflow, and Airflow (Cloud Composer), develop REST APIs, and guide a small team to convert requirements into scalable technical solutions. Java and Python skills are a plus, with strong communication essential.

Qualifications

• 6–13 years of experience in data warehousing on GCP platforms.
• Strong SQL/PL and MySQL expertise.
• GCP and BigQuery knowledge is must; certification is an added advantage.
• Experience with Cloud Composer and Airflow.
• REST API development experience.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to lead team, translate requirements into technical solutions, assign work, coordinate and review deliverables.

Mandatory Skills: GCP Services - Big Query, Cloud SQL, Data flow

Around 6 to 13 years of experience in development in Data warehousing projects in GCP platforms,

• Good understanding of dimensional modelling
• Expertise in MySQL & SQL/PL
• GCP & BigQuery knowledge is must, GCP certification is added advantage
• Good experience in Cloud Composer, DAGs , airflow
• REST API development experience
• Good in analytical and problem solving, efficient communication
• Ability to lead the team members, convert requirements into technical solutions, assign the work, coordinate the team and review the deliverables and ensure on schedule.
• Java programming skills and knowledge of python is added advantage
