Job summary

Aramya in Jaipur is seeking a Garment Fit Technologist to own sizing, fit architecture, and structural quality of our garments. You will establish grading rules and lead rigorous fit sessions from design through TOP.

This role bridges design and bulk production, requiring deep knowledge of fabrics, construction, and trims; you will ensure consistency across silhouettes and collaborate with design and category teams.

Qualifications

• B.F.Tech / M.F.Tech / B.Tech in Textiles or a Diploma in Apparel Manufacturing from premier institutes (NIFT or equivalent Tier 1/2).
• 10+ years of core experience as a Garment Fit Technician, with a focus on Women's Ethnic Wear.
• Deep knowledge of fabric properties, trim durability, pattern construction, and apparel workmanship.
• Uncompromising eye for structural alignment, drape, and measurement accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal skills to deliver technical feedback to masters, tailors, and production managers.
• Self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced VC-backed fashion startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Grading Architecture: devise and implement standard grading rules and tolerance levels across diverse sizes (M to 10XL).
• Tech Pack Execution: analyze design tech packs to release accurate graded specifications for fit and PP samples.
• Fit Session Leadership: lead comprehensive fit sessions; evaluate and submit detailed feedback from initial fit sample to PP and TOP submissions.
• Factory Communication: translate fit comments and measurements into clear directions for the production floor.
• Quality & Workmanship Sign‑Off: review construction, stitching, trims, and sign off on PP/TOP samples.
• Consistency Control: perform factory checks to guarantee grading rules are followed and sizing is uniform.
• Market Research: lead seasonal fit trends research with Design and Category teams.
• Fit Research: align with customer feedback by leading Fit R&D Projects.

About the opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled and precision‑driven Garment Fit Technologist to own the sizing, fit architecture, and structural quality of our garments. In this role, you will bridge the gap between creative design and bulk production. You will be responsible for creating standard grading rules, leading rigorous fit sessions, and ensuring absolute sizing consistency across all silhouettes so that our customers feel confident and comfortable in every piece.

Key responsibilities

• Grading Architecture: devise and implement standard grading rules and tolerance levels across diverse sizes (M to 10XL) and ethnic silhouettes.
• Tech Pack Execution: analyze design tech packs to release highly accurate graded specifications for fit and Pre‑Production (PP) samples.
• Fit Session Leadership: lead comprehensive fit sessions; evaluate and submit detailed feedback from the initial fit sample stage through to PP and Top of Production (TOP) submissions.
• Factory Communication: translate complex fit comments and technical measurements into clear, actionable directions for the production floor, balancing design aesthetics with factory capabilities and fabric behavior.
• Quality & Workmanship Sign‑Off: review garment construction, stitching workmanship, value additions (embroidery, prints), and trim placements to formally sign off on PP/TOP samples.
• Consistency Control: perform regular factory checks to guarantee grading rules are strictly followed and sizing remains perfectly uniform across all product lines.
• Market Research: lead seasonal market research on fit, body sizing trends, and garment finishing in close collaboration with the Design and Category teams.
• Fit Research: stay in touch with customer feedback and modify fit accordingly by leading Fit R&D Projects.

• B.F.Tech / M.F.Tech / B.Tech in Textiles or a Diploma in Apparel Manufacturing from a premier institute (NIFT or equivalent Tier 1/Tier 2 textile institutes).
• 10+ years of core experience as a Garment Fit Technician, with a strong, proven specialization in the Women's Ethnic Wear category.
• Deep, hands‑on knowledge of fabric properties, trim durability, pattern construction, and apparel workmanship specific to traditional and contemporary Indian wear.
• An uncompromising eye for structural alignment, drape, and measurement accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal skills to clearly deliver technical feedback to masterjis, tailors, and production managers.
