Job Position: Financial Analyst (SQL & Power BI)

Gallagher & Mohan works exclusively within the real estate industry. Our mission is to provide financial analysis, marketing, and accounting support to our clients, who are real estate-focused private equity investors, developers, fund managers, brokers, and more. We pride ourselves on our quality, strong communication, and work ethic. We are a natural extension of our client’s existing infrastructure. The type of transactions we currently work on range from multifamily apartment complexes to large office towers in the United States and European markets, with values ranging from $10 million USD – $200 million+ USD.

What you’re supposed to do:

We are seeking a talented SQL and Power BI Analyst to join our team. As a SQL and Power BI Analyst, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing SQL queries and Power BI reports to support data-driven decision-making for our clients. Additionally, the candidate should have a decent knowledge of finance (financial modeling is a plus). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and SQL, with the ability to create models from scratch and enhance existing client models.

  1. Develop complex SQL queries to extract, analyze, and manipulate data from multiple databases.
  2. Develop and present reports and dashboards to clients and management using Power BI.
  3. Optimize SQL queries and database performance for improved efficiency and scalability.
  4. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SQL and Power BI-related issues.
  5. Utilize SQL for database management and data analysis.
  6. Conduct financial analysis and modeling using Excel and Power BI, including functions such as SUM, Average, SUMIF, PMI, NPV, IRR, VLOOKUP, RUNDOWN, PV, Index Match Match, IF(MIN, MIN), IF(VLOOKUP), HLOOKUP, SUMPRODUCT, and more.
  7. Collaborate with team members and contribute to a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment.

Requirements Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Real Estate, Business, Economics, or related field.

Experience: Certification in SQL or Power BI, 1 year of experience in financial modeling - DCF Modeling is a plus.

Knowledge:

  • Proven experience working with SQL databases.
  • Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and optimizing database performance.
  • Strong command of Excel, Power BI/Looker, SQL, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in managing workload, report production, and programs.
  • Basic understanding of private equity, investment risk, and real estate investments.
  • Knowledge of data analytics, with the ability to create reporting tools and dashboards.

Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present technical data clearly and concisely.

Entrepreneurial: Self-starter with proactive and strategic thinking, with the ability to align research with business objectives.

Computer Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Power BI/Looker, SQL, Word, PowerPoint, and database systems.

Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
