Job summary

Lifestyle’s Home Centre division seeks a skilled furniture designer to conceptualize, design, and develop innovative collections from concept through production readiness. You will collaborate with Buying, Sourcing, Merchandising, and Vendor teams to deliver commercially relevant ranges that reflect brand identity and seasonal trends.

The role covers living, dining, bedroom, storage, outdoor, and accent categories, with emphasis on materials, finishes, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Research international and domestic trends to develop commercially relevant furniture collections.
• Create design concepts, mood boards, themes, and seasonal furniture collections aligned with brand identity.
• Develop products with materials, finishes, textures, constructions, colors, and manufacturing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design furniture across Living, Dining, Bedroom, Storage, Outdoor and Accent categories.
• Prepare detailed Tech Packs with dimensions, materials, and finishing requirements.
• Coordinate sample development, prototyping, and vendor approvals.
• Monitor product performance and propose improvements based on market feedback.
• Maintain product information and documentation in PLM systems.

Role Summary

To conceptualize, design, and develop innovative furniture collections for Home Centre, aligned with the brand's design philosophy, customer preferences, commercial objectives, and seasonal trends. The role involves driving the end-to-end furniture design and development process, from concept creation through production readiness, while collaborating closely with Buying, Sourcing, Merchandising, and Vendor teams.

Key Job Responsibilities

Design & Product Development

• Research international and domestic furniture, lifestyle, and home dcor trends to develop commercially relevant collections.
• Create design concepts, mood boards, themes, and seasonal furniture collections aligned with Home Centre's brand identity.
• Design furniture across categories such as Living, Dining, Bedroom, Storage, Outdoor, and Accent Furniture.
• Develop innovative products by exploring new materials, finishes, textures, constructions, colors, and manufacturing techniques.
• Ensure designs balance aesthetics, functionality, ergonomics, quality, and cost.

Range Development

• Work closely with Buyers to translate category briefs into commercially successful furniture ranges.
• Develop product specifications, CAD drawings, renders, material boards, and technical documentation.
• Prepare detailed Tech Packs including dimensions, construction details, materials, hardware specifications, and finishing requirements.
• Coordinate sample development, prototyping, product refinements, and approvals with vendors.

Vendor & Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with vendors throughout product development, sampling, testing, and production.
• Collaborate with Buying, Merchandising, Quality, Planning, Sourcing, VM, Graphics, and Supply Chain teams for successful product launches.
• Ensure timely execution of the seasonal product development calendar.

Product Performance & Innovation

• Monitor product performance through sales analysis and customer feedback.
• Recommend product improvements, design enhancements, and line extensions based on market trends and business performance.
• Drive continuous innovation in furniture aesthetics, materials, sustainability, and customer experience.

Process & Systems

• Maintain accurate product information and design documentation within PLM systems.
• Ensure adherence to product development timelines and business process calendars.
• Present seasonal collections and design concepts to internal stakeholders.
