Saajha is seeking an articulate fundraising professional to helm domestic and international fundraising initiatives, including crowdfunding campaigns, grants, and donor engagement. Working closely with the founding team, you will build partnerships with corporate sponsors and philanthropic partners.
The role requires 3–5 years of fundraising experience, including managerial exposure, strong written proposals and reports, and the ability to translate impact data into compelling narratives.
About Saajha: Saajha, a non-profit organization, is missioned to enable parents of children studying in government schools to be partners in their child’s education. We are building an ecosystem for parents to feel connected and supported in their efforts to impact the lives of children and drive transformative change. Saajha, since its inception in 2014, has worked across 2,000+ schools in Delhi, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Karnataka.
We listen, understand, and resolve challenges that parents face while supporting the learning of their children. Through calls, Whatsapp and on-field support, we have supported about 200k parents in FY 2023-24 and have plans to support ~200k parents in FY 2024-25. Saajha’s work has been recognized by Echoing Green Fellowship, Forbes India award, NASSCOM award for technology, and Action for India Tech Challenge, and is supported by organizations such as Indiamart, ATE Chandra Foundation, Max India Foundation, Axis Bank Foundation, and others.

We are looking for an articulate, driven, and persuasive professional to anchor Saajha's fundraising efforts. Working closely with the founding team, this person will lead domestic and international fundraising initiatives, including crowdfunding campaigns, grant opportunities, and donor engagement. The role involves nurturing relationships with donors, employee champions, corporate partners, and philanthropic organizations. They will be preparing compelling grant proposals and donor reports; supporting outreach and partnership-building efforts.
The person should have around 3-5 years of experience, including 1-2 years of managerial experience (corporate and non-corporate) in roles that require program monitoring and reporting/fundraising/managing relationships/communication. Above all, we truly appreciate value alignment among the organization and all its employees.
The person should be able to align with the mission and the vision of the organization. Saajha is an agile organization and has been testing various models for impact. This would often translate into phases where there is ambiguity operationally and strategically. The person should be able to navigate this phase.
The role would handle communications to two stakeholders. Two types of communication skills would be essential for thriving in the role. i) Interpersonal – ability to explain Saajha’s work, goals, and asks, and ii) Written—through proposals, e-mails, etc. The person should be able to write a compelling proposal explaining the theory of change, impact, and ask. This would include preparing pitch decks, partnership proposals and donor reports during the year. Further, the ability to weave numbers, and stories into a compelling narrative is desirable. The fundraising reporting requirements currently include reports on numbers and impact figures. The resource should be comfortable working with numbers for reporting and planning purposes. They should be able to plan fundraising efforts proactively, budget, and timelines for reporting etc.
The fundraising efforts, particularly for donor engagement, require working in close collaboration with operations and other teams. Thus, to meet the requirements for the role, the person should be able to work collaboratively and effectively with the other team members.
