Job summary

Citi is seeking an intermediate Fund Accounting Analyst in Pune to support daily NAV calculations and fund valuation activities within the Operations - Transaction Services team.

The role involves cash/position reconciliations, trade posting, custodian coordination, and processing high‑value transactions, with night shift as required. Strong accounting knowledge and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration is preferred.
• 7–9 years of fund accounting experience.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Perform cash and position reconciliation for funds.
• Process daily income/expense files at fund level.
• Validate exceptions in workflow management systems.
• Post and account for trades based on feeds from the trades team.
• Handle high value transactions including capital and sweep bookings.
• Coordinate with custodians on aged breaks and calls.
• Collaborate with team leaders to resolve client inquiries.
• Suggest process improvements and strengthen controls.
• Be a trusted source for FA operations; work hours as required.

Job description

The Fund Accounting Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participating in a variety of fund valuation activities in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team. The overall objective of this role is to assist in the calculation of daily and periodic Net Asset Valuations (NAVs) for funds and the distribution of associated unit prices.

Responsibilities

• Performing & Review Cash & Position Reconciliation of Funds.
• Daily Income/Expense files processing based at fund level.
• Validate exceptions in workflow exception management (WEM) or p-Control or EMS
• Perform trade pushing/accounting based on the feeds received from trades team and ensure all trades are pushed and accounted.
• Processing of high value transactions in the system – Capital and Sweep Bookings.
• Coordinate with Custodians for pending breaks and participate in Custodian call to discuss status of aged breaks.
• Work with team leaders in resolution of client inquiries
• Provide process improvement suggestions or contribute towards controls to be implemented to have a risk free process.
• Become a trusted source for FA operations to rely upon.
• Flexible working hours as per business and organizational requirement.

Skills Required

• Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skill
• Sound accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting practices
• Good knowledge of all security types, trade life cycle, corporate actions and its impact on portfolio.
• Exposure to MultiFonds, Invest One Enterprise, EMS, pControl, TLM application will be an added advantage..
• Good understanding of Capital Markets, Derivative Instruments, Custodians, Brokers.
• Work and time management should go hand in hand and needs to have eye for detail.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration is preferred.
• 7-9 years Fund Accounting experience
• Good knowledge of Microsoft office products
