Functional Lead
Req ID: 361105
Summary Of Role
We are seeking a highly capable Functional Lead with strong expertise in core banking, specifically corporate and syndicated lending. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of banking systems and a proven track record in engaging with clients across the stages of the Project Lifecycle. This role requires hands‑on leadership in areas such as company and book structures, jurisdictional modelling, integration across core banking modules, and resolution of complex functional issues.
What you will do
- Own the end‑to‑end functional design for corporate and syndicated lending products in Transact.
- Lead and conclude decisions related to company and book structures, jurisdictional separation (ROI, UK, NI, US) and legal‑entity modelling.
- Act as the primary integration point across Credit, Accounts, Customer, Payments, and downstream systems.
- Analyse and resolve complex issues relating to holiday calendars, rollovers, revaluations, overdue logic, CIF/region validation, sort codes and account structures.
- Produce concise design and governance papers to support Design Authority and senior stakeholder decision‑making.
- Engage directly with Temenos product and architecture teams, reviewing and closing BRDs and functional use cases.
- Apply rigorous data analysis and impact assessment to support, justify, and defend design decisions.
- Act as a senior escalation point where delivery is blocked by ambiguity, legacy constraints or unclear dependencies.
Experience And Skills Required
- 15+ years of industry experience with strong background in core banking or lending platforms, preferably corporate or syndicated lending solutions.
- Proven ability to work seamlessly across business and technology domains, not just within a single function.
- Experience taking ownership of complex design decisions, not limited to requirements documentation.
- Strong capability to work in ambiguity, especially within legacy environments and regulatory constraints.
- Decisive, with a strong focus on outcomes and delivery.
- Comfortable challenging assumptions and explaining trade‑offs.
- Trusted by peers and stakeholders to “own the complexity.”
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with senior business leaders and technical teams.
