Job summary

JobCubby is seeking an entry-level Applications Development Programmer Analyst to contribute to development activities as part of the Technology team. You will assist in applications systems analysis and programming, and you will learn to develop and test code while interfacing with peers and stakeholders.

The role focuses on Java/J2EE and related technologies, with exposure to databases, testing frameworks, and DevOps tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
• Exposure to an industry-standard database (Oracle) on a UNIX platform with awareness of database design and SQL scripting knowledge and performance tuning.
• Awareness of unit testing frameworks like JUnit or TestNG.
• Exposure to DevOps tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Lightspeed, Harness, etc.

Responsibilities

• Develop working knowledge of information systems, procedures, standards, client server development, and databases.
• Conduct testing and debugging, write basic code.
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts.

Job description

The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an entry level position responsible for contributing to a variety of development activities in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to assist in applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities

• Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements
• Conduct testing and debugging, utilize script tools, and write basic code
• Assess applicability of similar experiences and evaluate options under circumstances not covered by procedures
• Develop working knowledge of Citi’s information systems, procedures, standards, client server application development, network operations, database administration, systems administration, data center operations, and PC-based applications
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications

• Technology:
  • In depth knowledge and application of Java, J2EE, HTML/CSS, Angular, JSP, Servlets, JDBC, Struts framework, Spring and Micro service
  • Thorough understanding of usage of the fundamental concepts like Exception Handling, Static block/variables/classes, OOPS concepts, Collections, Multi-Threading, http sessions, session handling, Servlets/JSP life cycle, JDBC, actions, events, implicit objects, custom tags, context
  • Exposure to an industry-standard database (Oracle) on a UNIX platform with awareness of database design and SQL scripting knowledge and performance tuning
  • Awareness of unit testing frameworks like JUnit or TestNG
  • Awareness of application servers /webservers
  • Work experience on the transactional applications for low latency, high availability uses is a plus
  • Work experience in technologies like JMS / Kafka is a plus
  • Exposure to DevOps tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Lightspeed, Harness, etc.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
