Job summary

Uplers is seeking a skilled engineer to join our AI-driven materials discovery platform in Mumbai. You will develop backend services in Python using FastAPI and build fast UIs with React/Next.js in TypeScript.

You will integrate payments, deploy on AWS, and work with LLM APIs to optimize models for scientific workloads. The role requires hands-on experience with FastAPI, React/Next.js, and at least one real LLM application using LangChain or LangGraph.

Responsibilities

• Build AI co-scientist and backend services in Python with FastAPI.
• Create interfaces for researchers using React and Next.js with TypeScript.

• Deploy and operate services on AWS; assist CI/CD and monitoring.
• Work with hosted LLM APIs and optimize models for workloads.
• Operate in Linux environments; familiarity with Docker and GitHub Actions.

What You''''ll Do

• Build AI co-scientist
• Design and ship backend services in Python with FastAPI
• Build clean, fast interfaces for researchers in React and Next.js with TypeScript
• Integrate payments and billing for our platform (subscriptions, usage-based plans, webhooks)
• Deploy and operate services on AWS, and help with CI/CD, monitoring and infrastructure
• Work with model inference: hosted LLM APIs, and occasionally serving or optimizing models for scientific workloads
• Work comfortably in Linux environments
• Must haveStrong Python and TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI (or similar) and React/Next.js
• Has built at least one real LLM application with LangChain and/or LangGraph (agents, tool use, RAG or multi-step workflows)
• Has integrated a payment gateway in a production product
• Working knowledge of AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS or similar)
• Comfortable on the Linux command line
• Good to haveDocker, GitHub Actions or similar, infrastructure-as-code
• Vector databases (pgvector, Qdrant, Pinecone) and LLM observability (LangSmith or similar)
• Inference tooling such as vLLM, Bedrock or SageMaker
