Job summary

Kynhood is seeking a capable full-stack engineer in Chennai, India, to build scalable frontend features with React/Next.js (App Router) and backend services using Node.js/Express.js.

You will design and consume RESTful APIs, work with MongoDB and Redis, apply SSR/SSG/CSR strategies, and contribute to system designs and API specs in collaboration with product and design. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.

Qualifications

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Build and maintain frontend features using React and Next.js (App Router), and backend services using Node.js/Express.js
• Design and consume RESTful APIs define contracts, handle loading/error/empty states on the frontend, implement clean route handlers on the backend
• Work with MongoDB and Redis for data modeling, querying, and caching
• Implement SSR/SSG/CSR rendering strategies based on route requirements; apply SEO fundamentals (meta tags, structured data, Open Graph, canonical URLs)
• Translate product requirements into technical documentation data models, system designs, API specs in collaboration with product and design
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and API-level tests across the stack
• Optimize performance on both ends: frontend web vitals (FCP, LCP, CLS, INP) and backend query/caching efficiency
• Deploy and manage services in the cloud, with basic CI/CD and Docker for local/containerized environments
• Use AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Copilot, ChatGPT) to speed up delivery

Preferred candidate profile

• 2-4 years of professional experience spanning both frontend and backend development
• Proficiency in React and Next.js; working knowledge of TypeScript in strict mode
• Experience with Node.js/Express.js for backend services and REST API design
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB and Redis (or equivalent NoSQL/caching stores)
• Tailwind CSS (or equivalent) for responsive UI development
• Comfort writing technical documentation and turning ambiguous requirements into system designs
• Basic Docker knowledge for local environment setup

Good to Have

• Zustand or similar for frontend state management; React Hook Form
• Experience with a cloud provider (Azure/AWS/GCP) and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture (message queues, pub/sub)
• Analytics tooling (Mixpanel, GTM) or observability basics (logging, metrics, tracing)
• Interest in AI tooling for dev, testing, or documentation workflows
