Job summary

Sigmoid is seeking a Full Stack Software Development Engineer II to join the Product Engineering team in Bengaluru. You will build scalable web applications, collaborate with product managers and designers, and drive features from design to deployment.

You will work on frontend with React/TypeScript and Tailwind, connect to backend services via Node.js or Python (FastAPI), and design robust APIs and data models using PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and modern UI component libraries like Shadcn UI.
• Experience with modern client-side state management and data-fetching libraries.
• Strong server-side development experience with Node.js or Python (FastAPI).
• Experience with relational databases, ORM/Query Builders, and PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of API design, authentication/authorization (OIDC/OAuth 2.0), and backend-frontend integration.
• Sound knowledge of software design patterns, SOLID, and clean architecture.
• Good testing discipline with Jest, React Testing Library, and PyTest.

Responsibilities

• Design and build responsive, high-performance web interfaces using React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Shadcn UI, with reliable API services.
• Model, query, and optimize relational data structures in PostgreSQL; design and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.

About The Role

As a Full Stack SDE II in Sigmoid's Product Engineering team, you will take ownership of building scalable, reliable, and user-centric web applications. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and system architects to drive features from design to deployment, ensuring robust frontend performance, clean backend services, and efficient database architectures.

Key Responsibilities

Full Stack Development

• Design and build responsive, high-performance web interfaces using React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Shadcn UI, backed by reliable API services using Node.js or Python (FastAPI).

Database & API Design

• Model, query, and optimize relational data structures in PostgreSQL.
• Design, build, and maintain clean RESTful APIs and microservices.

Code Quality & Best Practices

• Apply SOLID principles, basic design patterns, and clean code principles to write maintainable, scalable, and self-documenting code.

Frontend

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and modern UI component libraries like Shadcn UI.

State & Data Fetching

• Experience with modern client-side state management and data-fetching libraries (TanStack Query, Zustand, or Redux Toolkit).

Backend

• Strong expertise in server-side development using Node.js or Python (FastAPI).

ORMs & Data Layer

• Experience with ORMs or Query Builders such as Prisma, Drizzle, TypeORM, or SQLAlchemy.

Database

• Strong expertise in relational database modeling, query optimization, indexing, and management with PostgreSQL.

System Design & Patterns

• Practical experience applying SOLID principles, basic software design patterns (Factory, Singleton, Observer, etc.), and clean architecture principles.

API Development

• Solid grasp of API design standards, authentication/authorization using OIDC and OAuth 2.0, and backend-frontend integration.

Testing

• Proficiency in unit, integration, and component testing using Jest, React Testing Library, and PyTest.
