Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking a software engineer to design, build, and maintain high‑volume mainframe business logic while refactoring legacy code to support modern cloud and mobile applications.

You will optimize performance, debug complex interactions, and develop strategies to extract business logic for migration to cloud services, working with Java, Python, .NET and contemporary tech stacks.

• Debug and Test: Debug, troubleshoot, and analyze complex system interactions to keep mission‑critical applications running.
• Develop for the Future: Extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud‑based services.

Required skills and experience

• Experience working as a software engineer on complex software projects.
• Excellent coding skills and solid development experience (Java, Python, .NET, etc.) with debugging and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with software development methodologies, developing scalable and robust software.
• Experience in relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, XML/JSON, REST‑based web services.
• Knowledge of architecture design – microservices architecture, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), messaging queues.
• Deep understanding of OOP and design patterns.

Preferred skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Certification in one or more of the hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, Google GCP).
• Experience with DevOps tools and modern engineering practices.
• Java, SpringBoot, awareness of SOLID, microservices architecture, AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, ECS), CI/CD pipelines, SQL, NoSQL (Mongo, DynamoDB), security (Spring, AWS IAM), design patterns, HLD, LLD, team coordination, leading a team, system documentation, Agile, ReactJS, NodeJS, Python, Terraform.
