ROLE OVERVIEW

The Lead Fullstack Developer is the technical anchor of the development team. This role is responsible for defining the application architecture, establishing coding standards, conducting code reviews, and contributing hands-on development across the entire stack. The Lead Developer works closely with the Technical Project Manager to translate requirements into robust, scalable, and secure solutions suitable for deployment on air-gapped networks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and architect the overall application stack, including frontend, backend, APIs, and database layers
• Lead hands-on development using Python, Node.js, Angular, and React across modules
• Establish and enforce coding standards, branching strategies, and code review processes
• Design RESTful APIs and microservices architecture for modular, maintainable codebases
• Collaborate with the GIS Developer on integrating geospatial layers into the application
• Work with the DevOps Engineer to ensure application compatibility with air-gapped deployment pipelines
• Mentor and guide mid-level developers on best practices and architectural decisions
• Optimize application performance, database queries, and frontend rendering
• Conduct technical feasibility analysis for new features and provide effort estimates
• Ensure security best practices are embedded in code, including input validation, authentication, and authorization

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Python (Django/Flask/FastAPI) and Node.js (Express/NestJS)
• Strong frontend skills in Angular and React with state management(NgRx, Redux)
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL including query optimization, indexing, and PostGIS extensions
• Proficiency in RESTful API design, WebSocket communication, and microservices patterns
• Experience with Git-based workflows, code review tools, and CI/CD integration
• Understanding of containerized deployments (Docker) and orchestration basics
• Familiarity with GIS data formats (GeoJSON, Shapefiles, WMS/WFS) and map rendering libraries
