Job summary

Unico Connect LLP is seeking a skilled Full Stack Engineer (3–5 years) to join our remote-first team. You’ll design robust backend services in Node.js/NestJS and build responsive frontends with React/Next.js, using PostgreSQL and cloud platforms.

The role involves client-facing engagements and production-grade delivery across multiple geographies. You’ll work with AI-assisted development, integrate LLM APIs, and contribute to end-to-end architectures from POCs to production.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on professional full-stack engineering experience, with a track record of owning production systems end-to-end.

Unico Connect is an AI-first technology partner that builds custom mobile, web, and AI products for clients across multiple geographies. We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer (3–5 years) to work directly on customer engagements, designing robust architectures, scalable backend services, and high-performance web interfaces that ship to real users.

Our primary engineering stack focuses on Node.js with NestJS on the backend and React with Next.js on the frontend, alongside PostgreSQL, Cloud infrastructure, and AI-assisted development workflows. While Node.js / NestJS is our preferred primary backend stack, candidates with strong Python / FastAPI experience who are open and flexible to working across different tech stacks are also welcome.

This is a customer-facing role based in our Mumbai office. You will interact directly with clients during project discovery, design reviews, demos, and working sessions. You will own features end-to-end moving rapidly from initial proof-of-concepts (POCs) to reliable, production-ready systems with real traffic.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development (Node.js / NestJS / Python): Design and build production-grade APIs and microservices using Node.js with NestJS (or Python with FastAPI). Implement async patterns, streaming responses, authentication, error handling, and retries.
• Frontend Development (React / Next.js): Build responsive, highly performant web applications using React and Next.js. Own end-to-end product features from backend API integration to UI rendering.
• Database Design & Performance: Own schema design, indexing, query optimization, and migrations using PostgreSQL.
• AI Integration & AI-Assisted Development:
• Build product architectures where LLMs, retrieval pipelines, and AI workflows are core components. Integrate APIs from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and handle orchestration, evaluation, and observability.
• Use modern AI development tools (Cursor, Claude, Copilot, etc.) in your daily workflow to accelerate coding, debugging, and code review processes.
• Cloud & Operations: Deploy, manage, and maintain services across cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), setting up basic CI/CD pipelines and system observability.
• Client Engagement: Directly interact with client stakeholders during discovery, product demos, and technical reviews. Translate fuzzy requirements into concrete technical designs.
• POC to Production: Move rapidly from proof-of-concepts to structured, production-grade applications with real users and measurable efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on professional full-stack engineering experience, with a track record of owning production systems end-to-end.
• Core Tech Stack:
• Backend: Strong production experience with Node.js using the NestJS framework. (Engineers with strong Python / FastAPI experience who are willing and excited to work in Node.js/NestJS are also welcome).
• Frontend: Hands-on experience building production interfaces with React and Next.js using TypeScript.
• Database: Deep hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, performance tuning, and migrations).
• Cloud Fundamentals: Proven experience deploying and maintaining applications on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• AI-Assisted Engineering: Experience integrating LLM APIs into web products and leveraging AI coding tools day-to-day to write high-quality code faster.
• Stack Flexibility: Willingness and adaptability to work across different tech stacks based on project and customer requirements.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and spoken English communication skills for client-facing meetings, working sessions, and documentation.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with both Node.js and Python ecosystems.
• Hands-on familiarity with AI agent frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, LlamaIndex) or vector databases (e.g., pgvector, Pinecone, Qdrant).
• Experience with evaluation and observability tools for AI (e.g., LangSmith, Langfuse).
• Experience in agency, consulting, or client-facing product engineering environments.
