Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Fullstack Engineer in Pune to design, develop, and improve software infrastructure and deployment pipelines. You will work with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices while ensuring secure, scalable solutions and rapid AI-enabled development.

You will collaborate across product, design, and engineering teams, participate in code reviews, and stay current with industry trends to drive excellence in delivery and risk management.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Java, Spring Boot, and REST-based microservices architectures.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (Oracle/Mongo).
• Familiarity with DevSecOps tools: OpenShift, Kubernetes, GitLab, Jira, SonarQube; Maven/Gradle for builds.
• Message queues like Kafka or IBM MQ.
• Awareness of AI model integration in rapid app development (Claude, GitLab Duo).
• Strong CS fundamentals and object-oriented design principles.

Join us as a Fullstack Engineer where you will spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. You will harness cutting-edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of our digital solutions.

To be successful as a Fullstack Engineer you should have experience with:

• Back-end technologies - Java, SpringBoot, Junit, Rest, MicroServices TDD (test driven development).
• Database Technologies SQL and NoSQL - Oracle / Mongo.
• DevSecOps - PaaS Openshift / K8S, GitLab, JIRA, SonarQube, Prisma and Wiz
• Maven or Gradle.
• Working knowledge of message queue like Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, etc.
• Experience of Rapid Application Development using AI models like Claude, GitLab Duo.
• Computer Science degree or equivalent understanding of Computer Science, Object Oriented Design and Data Structures.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
