Job summary

Yokogawa is seeking an experienced SIS QA/QC Engineer in Bengaluru to support quality plans, reviews, and audits across major projects. You will ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and IEC61508/511, oversee NCRs, and verify design documents before procurement and client review.

Ideal candidates hold a technical Engineering degree and 5+ years in industrial automation environments, with strong communication for cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Instrumentation/ Electrical / Electronics) or a related technical branch.
• Proven experience (5+ years) as a SIS QA/QC Engineer in engineering or SIS project execution (Industrial Automation & Process Control).
• Strong understanding of quality management systems and ISO 9001 / IEC61508/511.
• Knowledge of Emergency shutdown systems and FGS.
• Experience with interpreting engineering drawings / deliverables in Industrial Automation & Process Control.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams for Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and other quality procedures.
• Review and approve contractor and vendor quality plans, method statements, and submittals for Major SIS projects.
• Participate in critical project reviews (HazOp, Risk Assessments) to ensure quality and safety from early stages.
• Conduct internal QA audits in ongoing SIS projects to monitor compliance and drive improvements.
• Prepare QA/QC training materials and guide new engineers on quality standards.

Key responsibilities & Qualification

1. Quality assurance (process-focused)

• Support Project teams for Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and other quality procedures.
• Review and approve contractor and vendor quality plans, method statements, and technical submittals to ensure compliance for Major SIS project Quality needs.
• Participate in any Critical project reviews (e.g., HazOp, Risk Assessments) to ensure that quality and safety requirements are addressed from the earliest stages for Major Projects
• Conduct internal quality audits in Ongoing SIS Projects, (engineering and design processes) to monitor compliance and identify areas for continuous improvement.
• Prepare QA/QC training materials. Provide guidance to new members/Engineers on quality standards and procedures.
• Monitoring (on Regular basis) of SIS Projects at various phases for adherence to Internal QA/QC process & reporting /escalation. Should also be responsible & provide clearances for moving to the next phase.
• Global SIS project assessment based on Functional Safety standard (IEC61508/511)

2. Quality control

• Perform detailed, independent spot / sample reviews of engineering documents / Deliverables (from projects).
• Oversee adherence to document control system, ensuring that design documents are accurately tracked and revision control management in place.
• Manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process for design errors, including root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions.
• Verify that design documents are complete and signed off before being issued for procurement / customer review.
• Review & control quality documentation dossiers at the final project handover stage.

3. Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Instrumentation/ Electrical / Electronics) or a related technical Branch.
• Proven experience (5+ years) as a SIS QA/QC Engineer, preferably in an engineering or SIS project execution environment (Industrial Automation & Process Control domain)
• Strong understanding of quality management systems and international standards (e.g., ISO 9001 and IEC61508/511).
• Knowledge of Emergency shutdown system and FGS.
• Experience with Understanding/ interpreting engineering drawings / deliverables in Industrial Automation & Process Control.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Relevant certifications (e.g., TuV FS Engineer) are a plus.
