Job summary

EY Global Delivery Services is seeking a Senior in Life Actuarial for Managed Services. You will deliver actuarial solutions for leading insurance clients, mentoring staff and coordinating with EY teams worldwide to ensure high-quality results.

You bring strong Excel/VBA, actuarial software (Prophet/Axis/MG Alpha) and a solid grasp of cross-geography insurance regulations and US product lines.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of US product lines and regulatory standards; hands-on implementation experience desirable.
• Experience of handling a small to moderate sized team is an advantage.
• Ability to review junior staff work under time-sensitive deadlines.
• Ability to modify modeling setups to incorporate asset or liability cashflows.
• Understanding AoC concepts and AoC steps (unwinding, roll forward, assumption changes, variances).
• Strong Excel skills with macros to transform actuarial cashflows.
• Hands-on experience in Prophet / Axis / MG Alpha actuarial software; advanced level in one is valuable.
• Strong Excel and VBA skills; PPT deck preparation experience.
• Deep understanding of insurance products and cross-geography regulations.

The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior to join our Life Insurance Managed Services Actuarial Practice delivering solutions to the leading clients in the Insurance Sector, working closely with other Staff/Assistants, Consultants/Seniors, Managers, Senior Managers or Client partners in EY’s global network of insurance sector and consulting professionals.

You can expect to work alongside senior managers/directors to support large‑scale engagements and deliver high‑quality client solutions. You will develop and maintain long‑term relationships and networks, build and energize a high‑performing team.

Key Requirements

• Good understanding of US product lines and regulatory standards; hands‑on implementation experience (desirable)
• Experience of handling a small to moderate sized team will be an advantage
• Ability to review work done by junior members, ensuring quality of work product during time‑sensitive deadlines
• Ability to maneuver around existing modeling setup to incorporate the asset or liability cashflows
• Understanding of AoC concept and AoC steps (unwinding, roll forward, assumption changes, experience variances)
• Strong excel skills, capable of running and modifying macros used to transform Actuarial Cashflows
• Hands‑on experience in actuarial valuation software such as Prophet / Axis / MG Alpha. Advanced level experience in one of these softwares will be valuable
• Strong experience on Excel is must and experience on VBA would be good
• Good experience of preparing PPT decks
• In‑depth understanding of insurance products and regulations of one or more geographies

To qualify for the role, you must have

• 3-6 years of experience in valuation / reporting / pricing or modelling function in life actuarial team of an insurance / consulting / outsourcing company
• Good analytical skills
• Ability to do investigations in models / reporting process and independently solve problems
• Willingness to learn and apply learning actively in project work
• Proficiency in MS-Office Suite, Power BI, VBA, SAS, R Programming, Python, SQL, SPSS, etc., will be a plus

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Good actuarial exam progress
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing, industry studies and stakeholder presentations
• The ability to build relationships with colleagues across the business, support them and promote a collaborative environment
• Overseas exposure (especially Australia/UK/US/Europe market experience)
