Job summary

EY GDS Consulting seeks a Senior, Managed Services, Life Actuarial to deliver actuarial solutions for leading insurance clients. The role requires hands-on actuarial modeling, leadership of a small team, and close collaboration with EY’s global network.

• Strong Excel skills, including macros for transforming actuarial cashflows.
• Hands-on experience in actuarial valuation software such as Prophet, Axis, or MG Alpha.
• Experience preparing PowerPoint decks.
• In-depth understanding of insurance products and regulations in one or more geographies.
• Proficiency in VBA is desirable.

We are looking for a Senior to join our Life Insurance Managed Services Actuarial Practice to deliver solutions to leading clients in the Insurance sector.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement solutions within the Insurance service line and collaborate with other service lines.
• Work closely with staff, assistants, consultants, managers, senior managers, directors, and client partners in EY’s global network.
• Support large‑scale engagements and deliver high‑quality client solutions.
• Develop and maintain long‑term client relationships and networks.

Key Requirements

• Good understanding of US product lines and regulatory standards; hands‑on implementation experience (desirable).
• Experience leading a small to moderate sized team.
• Strong Excel skills, including macros for transforming actuarial cashflows.
• Hands‑on experience in actuarial valuation software such as Prophet, Axis, or MG Alpha; advanced level experience is valuable.
• Experience preparing PowerPoint decks.
• In‑depth understanding of insurance products and regulations in one or more geographies.
• Proficiency in VBA is desirable.

Skills and Attributes

• 3‑6 years of experience in valuation, reporting, pricing or modelling in a life actuarial team.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to investigate models and reporting processes.
• Willingness to learn and apply new knowledge actively in project work.
• Proficiency in MS‑Office Suite, Power BI, VBA, SAS, R, Python, SQL, SPSS, etc. (plus actuarial exam progress).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing, industry studies, and stakeholder presentations.
• Ability to build relationships with colleagues across the business and promote collaboration.
• Overseas exposure (Australia, UK, US, Europe) is a plus.
