Job summary

PwC Acceleration Center India seeks a Data Engineer Associate to design, code, and test data-driven solutions for a diverse client portfolio. You will develop pipelines, leverage Spark and Databricks, and work with Azure data services to deliver analytics-ready data.

You will engage with global teams, grow technical skills, and contribute to GenAI projects under guidance, while collaborating across Advisory and Business Services to drive transformation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years in data engineering or related technology role.
• Working knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines, data products, and analytics solutions using Python, SQL, Spark, and Databricks.
• Build and enhance cloud-based data solutions using Azure services and modern data platforms.
• Apply data modeling, Delta Lake, lakehouse, and data warehouse concepts to meet business and analytics needs.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Support testing, debugging, troubleshooting, monitoring, and performance tuning to improve solution quality and reliability.
• Use version control, CI/CD, and development best practices to support efficient and dependable delivery.
• Contribute to GenAI and retrieval-augmented generation initiatives under appropriate technical guidance.
• Continuously build technical skills and adopt new tools and engineering practices.

What You Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field.
• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in data engineering, software development, analytics engineering, or a related technology role.
• Working knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark, and data pipeline development.
• Exposure to Databricks or a comparable cloud data platform, such as Microsoft Fabric or Snowflake.
• Familiarity with Azure services, data lakes, lakehouse architecture, and data warehousing concepts.
• Understanding of Git, testing, debugging, and CI/CD fundamentals.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

What Sets You Apart

• Hands‑on experience with Databricks workflows, Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, or Asset Bundles.
• Awareness of Generative AI, RAG, large language models, semantic search, or related AI technologies.
• Exposure to automated testing, data quality checks, monitoring, or performance optimization.
