The Corporate Institute seeks a senior finance leader in South Mumbai to assume end-to-end ownership of accounting, reporting and governance on a fractional basis. You will act as a trusted partner to the promoters/MD, guiding statutory compliance, costing, MIS and FP&A with hands-on execution.

Ideal candidates have CA credentials and 15+ years of post-qualification experience in manufacturing or promoter-led businesses, capable of rapid ramp-up and delivering impact on a 3-day-per-week schedule.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) through ICAI is mandatory.
• 15+ years of progressive post-qualification finance or controllership experience.
• Exposure to manufacturing finance, export finance, FMCG, houseware, kitchenware or promoter-led manufacturing businesses is preferred.
• Demonstrable ownership of financial control, accounting, statutory compliance, costing, MIS and business partnering.

About The Company:

An established Indian consumer-products business with a growing presence in the grooming, personal-care and allied consumer categories is looking for a Fractional Financial Controller based in South Mumbai.

Position & Hiring Parameters:

Location: South Mumbai; hands-on presence on scheduled engagement days

Experience: 15+ years progressive post-qualification finance or controllership experience

Seniority: Financial Controller, Head of Finance or CFO-equivalent; fractional or interim portfolio leadership

Mandatory qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) through ICAI

Engagement: Fractional or part-time; 3 days per week

Role Mandate & Seniority:

Senior-most finance professional or Financial Controller-level fractional leadership mandate with end-to-end responsibility for accounting integrity, reporting, compliance and financial governance.

Explicitly fractional: 3 days per week on a senior retainer basis. Candidates currently doing fractional, interim, shared-CFO, virtual-CFO, portfolio-CFO or on-demand finance assignments are specifically encouraged.

Experienced full-time finance leaders willing to transition into a structured fractional engagement may be considered subject to availability and conflict-of-interest clearance.

Must be capable of rapid ownership without a long ramp-up period and must operate as a senior business partner to promoters or MD.

Education Level & Qualifications:

• – Chartered Accountant (CA) through ICAI is mandatory.
• – 15+ years of progressive post-qualification finance or controllership experience.
• – Preferred additional exposure: manufacturing finance, export finance, FMCG, consumer durables, houseware, kitchenware or other promoter-led manufacturing businesses.
• – Professional credibility must include demonstrable ownership of financial control, accounting, statutory compliance, costing, MIS and business partnering.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• – Ind AS or Indian GAAP, direct and indirect taxation, GST, TDS or TCS, Companies Act, FEMA, Customs and export-import compliance.
• – Manufacturing FP&A, budgeting, standard or product costing, variance analysis, inventory, receivables or payables and working-capital optimisation.
• – ERP or accounting systems: Tally, SAP or SAP S/4HANA or equivalent; chart of accounts, master data, controls and reporting layers.
• – Advanced Excel, financial modelling, driver-based forecasts, cash-flow models, management dashboards and scenario analysis.
• – Banking relationships, working-capital facilities, trade finance, liquidity planning, covenant management, export documentation, letters of credit and FX exposure.
• – Statutory, tax and internal audit leadership; confident interaction with auditors, bankers, regulators, legal counsel and promoters.
• – AI-enabled finance operating model: controlled automation of reconciliations, AP or AR document capture, three-way matching, anomaly detection, forecasting and management dashboards, with maker-checker and human-in-the-loop controls.
• – High integrity, discretion, judgement, stakeholder management and hands-on execution.

Previous Roles & Relevant Experience:

• – Fractional CFO, Fractional Financial Controller, Shared CFO, Virtual CFO, Portfolio CFO or Interim CFO.
• – Financial Controller, Head of Finance or CFO of a mid-sized or promoter-led manufacturing enterprise.
• – Senior finance leaders with prior consulting or advisory portfolios who have demonstrably operated multiple concurrent finance mandates.
• – Strong preference for manufacturing and export finance, consumer durables, FMCG, houseware, kitchenware or adjacent product businesses.
• – Candidates must be able to evidence actual fractional or interim delivery or a credible, conflict-free willingness to adopt the 3-day-per-week structure. (Or Full-time)
