Job summary

ABB seeks a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to analyze performance against plans and forecasts, close monthly books, and deliver MIS reports. The role involves cross-functional collaboration across divisions, hubs, and countries to understand drivers of financial performance.

You will validate data accuracy, drive cost/benefit analyses, and support audits. Building automated reporting solutions and maintaining SOPs are included to enhance productivity and control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master in Finance or Accounting; CMA/MBA Finance preferred.
• Up to 4 years of experience in FP&A.
• Hands-on SAP FICO experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Detail oriented and thorough in approach.
• Strong communication skills and English fluency.
• Proficient in MS Office and data analysis.
• Ability to work with diverse teams across countries.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business performance versus Plan and forecast.

• Ensure processes and controls meet group requirements and maintain SOPs.

This Position reports to

Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

Roles and responsibilities

• Performing analysis of business performance versus Plan and forecast.
• Performing month end closing activities and MIS reports for the respective business / functions.
• Working with the other financial professionals in Divisions / Hubs / Countries / functions to understand and analyze the drivers of financial performance.
• Analysis of overhead under / over absorption indicating root cause. (True up/True down of the cost). Performing cost / benefit analysis and analysis of inventories, NWC
• Preparing ad-hoc reports as per business / function’s request. Supporting preparation of relevant organization financial reporting, business planning & forecasting. Supporting audits.
• Validating accuracy of financial data and business information and reports by performing reconciliation and review of exceptions.
• Optimize own performance to increase productivity by developing automated solutions, eliminating duplications, coordinating information requirements. Identify areas for process / report standardization across different countries, divisions and business units.
• Ensure processes and controls within own area of responsibility are implemented in line with Group and unit requirements. Maintain proper audit trail and documentation for future tax / internal / external audits and reviews. Maintain SOPs for all activities performed.

Qualification of the role

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in a Finance and/or Accounting. CMA/MBA Finance preferred
• Up to 4 year experience in Financial Planning and Analysis.
• Hands on experience in SAP FICO modules preferred
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Thorough / detail oriented approach.
• Strong communication skills.
• Fluent in English. Experience with MS Office
• Ability to work with diverse teams across different countries. Self-motivated with a strong commitment to quality
