Job summary

ABB Finance is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis professional to analyze performance versus Plan and forecast, close month-end, and prepare MIS reports across divisions. You will work with finance teams across countries, identify cost drivers, support audits, and develop automated reports while maintaining strong controls and SOPs.

Fluent English and strong Excel are essential for cross-country collaboration and delivering timely insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or Accounting; CMA/MBA Finance preferred.
• Up to 4 year experience in Financial Planning and Analysis.
• Hands on experience in SAP FICO modules preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Thorough / detail oriented approach.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Ability to work with diverse teams across countries.

Responsibilities

• Performing analysis of business performance versus Plan and forecast.
• Performing month end closing activities and MIS reports for the respective business / functions.
• Working with the other financial professionals to analyze drivers of financial performance.
• Analysis of overhead absorption, cost benefits, and inventories; support NWC analysis.
• Preparing ad-hoc reports and supporting financial reporting, planning & forecasting; audits.
• Validating accuracy of financial data and reports; reconcile and review exceptions.
• Develop automated solutions and standardize reports across countries and divisions.

This Position reports to:

Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

Roles and responsibilities

• Performing analysis of business performance versus Plan and forecast.
• Performing month end closing activities and MIS reports for the respective business / functions.
• Working with the other financial professionals in Divisions / Hubs / Countries / functions to understand and analyze the drivers of financial performance.
• Analysis of overhead under / over absorption indicating root cause. (True up/True down of the cost). Performing cost / benefit analysis and analysis of inventories, NWC
• Preparing ad-hoc reports as per business / function's request. Supporting preparation of relevant organization financial reporting, business planning & forecasting. Supporting audits.
• Validating accuracy of financial data and business information and reports by performing reconciliation and review of exceptions.
• Optimize own performance to increase productivity by developing automated solutions, eliminating duplications, coordinating information requirements. Identify areas for process / report standardization across different countries, divisions and business units.
• Ensure processes and controls within own area of responsibility are implemented in line with Group and unit requirements. Maintain proper audit trail and documentation for future tax / internal / external audits and reviews. Maintain SOPs for all activities performed.

Qualification of the role
