Job summary

Weekday 1's client seeks a hands-on Founding Product Manager to shape products that transform mechanical and manufacturing workflows. You will work closely with customers, founders and engineering teams to translate problems into clear requirements, prototypes, milestones, and measurable outcomes.

This role spans product strategy, customer discovery, CAD, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and software development, with an emphasis on delivering high-impact product releases.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in product management or similar roles.
• Experience working closely with software engineering teams and shipping software products.
• Exposure to CAD, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, 3D workflows, or industrial technology.
• Strong ability to translate complex customer problems into clear product requirements.
• Excellent prototyping skills and ability to define a great user experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for milestone-based planning.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end product execution, from customer discovery to delivery and iteration.
• Translate needs and priorities into product requirements, PRDs, prototypes, milestones, timelines, and evaluation criteria.
• Engage with customers to understand workflows, pain points and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop understanding of CAD workflows, engineering drawings, mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and industrial workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering to communicate behavior, edge cases, trade-offs, and expected outcomes.
• Prototype ideas quickly and validate concepts with customer insights.
• Break complex problems into milestones and set clear engineering priorities.
• Reproduce and document product issues to support debugging and resolution.
• Partner with engineering, design, operations and customer-facing teams for high-quality releases.
• Define product evaluations, acceptance criteria and quality benchmarks.
• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, releases, QA and prioritization.
• Improve processes around planning, feedback, documentation, QA and release management.
• Identify opportunities to simplify workflows and reduce ambiguity to accelerate development.
• Continuously research technical challenges and emerging technologies.
• Take ownership of ambiguous problems and move them toward practical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, release discussions, QA processes, and product prioritization.
• Improve processes around product planning, customer feedback, documentation, QA, and release management.
• Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce ambiguity, and help engineering teams move faster without unnecessary processes.
• Continuously research technical challenges and emerging technologies to understand what is possible and how it can be applied to customer workflows.
• Take ownership of ambiguous and technically complex problems and drive them toward practical product outcomes.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 3+ years of experiencein product management, product development, or other product-centric roles.
• Proven experience working closely withsoftware engineering teamsand successfully shipping software products.
