Job summary

Chariot is a frontier AI research lab in India seeking its first designer to own all visuals—from product interfaces to brand identity, videos, and pitches.

You will define the user experience, craft the visual language, and ship polished screens and short videos to carry the company's arguments to partners and audiences.

Qualifications

• Real range in portfolio across product, brand, and content.
• Strong product and interaction design skills, including user flows, wireframes, and prototyping.
• You make the actual work, shipping polished screens and engaging short videos.
• Fluent in Figma, and comfortable with AI coding tools to turn design into runnable prototypes.
• Experience building and maintaining design systems, style guides, and component libraries.
• Able to run user research and usability testing, then translate learnings into design decisions.
• You can edit short-form video well for socials.
• Understanding of UX principles for voice, conversational interfaces, or AI-driven products is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, and ability to work with engineering and product teams.
• Comfortable operating in an early, fast-moving environment and owning projects end to end.
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own product interfaces, dashboards, and playgrounds that developers use daily.
• Define and shape the brand identity, visuals, style guides, and system.
• Create videos and graphics for social posts (X, LinkedIn) and outreach.
• Build prototypes directly in code using AI tools; move from idea to working UI.

About Chariot:

Chariot is a frontier AI research lab based in India, building foundational AI models. We're one of four teams selected under the IndiaAI Mission to build models from India.

The Role:

You'll be our first designer, which means you own everything visual. The product our developers build on, the brand the world sees, the videos and posts that carry our arguments, the decks that go in front of partners. All of it is yours to define.

This includes:

• Product. The interfaces, dashboards, and playground our developers use every day. You decide what using Chariot feels like.
• Brand. The identity of the company itself, how it looks, how it reads, the system everything else is built on. Decks, one-pagers, the visual language.
• Content. The videos and graphics that go out on X and LinkedIn. When we ship a model or make an argument, you make people stop scrolling.
• Prototypes. You take ideas straight to working prototypes in code using AI tools and not waiting on an eng handoff to see if something feels right.
