Job summary

Recrew AI is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer in Mumbai/Bangalore to own AI agent deployments from first principles through production outcomes. You will work inside customer environments to diagnose workflows, architect integrations, and ship AI-driven solutions that transform enterprise operations.

You will collaborate with Product and Engineering, engage with C-suite and IT teams, and balance technical depth with business context, enjoying autonomy and accountability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with production systems.
• Strong software design fundamentals and systems thinking.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into production systems.
• Proven experience building integrations across REST APIs, webhooks, ETL pipelines.
• Ability to debug and operate production systems in environments you don't fully control.
• Track record of working directly with enterprise customers or technical stakeholders.
• High-agency mindset — able to drive from problem definition to deployed solution.

Responsibilities

• Partner with enterprise customers to map critical workflows, define success criteria, and translate ambiguous operational problems into concrete technical designs.
• Build and deploy AI agents that integrate with customer systems — spanning legacy CRMs, voice platforms, email, and back-office infrastructure — within security and compliance constraints.
• Use spec-driven development to orchestrate fleets of agents simultaneously, managing complex multi-system builds at speed.
• Own deployments end-to-end: reliability, performance monitoring, incident response, and continuous iteration based on real production data.
• Act as a technical founder within customer environments — creating playbooks where none exist and converting field learnings into platform improvements.
• Navigate C-suite conversations and IT architecture sessions in the same day, bridging business context and technical depth.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to feed customer insights back into core platform features and scalable delivery tooling.

Position Overview

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you sit at the intersection of deep technical execution and enterprise partnership — owning AI agent deployments from first principles through measurable production outcomes. You'll work directly inside customer environments to diagnose complex operational workflows, architect integrations across legacy and modern systems, and ship AI-driven solutions that transform how enterprises operate. This role carries both the autonomy of a founder and the accountability of a production engineer.

Must Have Criteria

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated ownership of production systems
• Strong software design fundamentals and systems thinking — able to architect solutions across unfamiliar stacks and environments
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into production systems (prompt engineering, tool use, agent orchestration, or evaluation pipelines)
• Proven experience building integrations across heterogeneous systems and data flows (e.g., REST APIs, webhooks, ETL pipelines)
• Demonstrated ability to debug and operate production systems in environments you don't fully control
• Track record of working directly with enterprise customers or technical stakeholders, owning ambiguous problem scopes end-to-end
• High-agency mindset — able to drive from problem definition to deployed solution without waiting for perfect requirements

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, or implementation consulting roles
• Exposure to AI agent frameworks, automation pipelines, or conversational systems (voice, chat, or email)
• Experience operating production systems in regulated or compliance-heavy enterprise environments
