Forward Deployed Engineers are the people who put them there. You sit between our engineering team and the utility — leading technical demos in the pre-sale conversation, scoping the pilot, and then living on the ground through deployment, integration with DISCOM systems, and the first months of operations. You're the reason a pilot becomes a rollout.This is a senior, customer-facing engineering role for someone who's equally comfortable in a substation control room, a DISCOM CGM's office, and our codebase. You'll shape the product roadmap based on what you see in the field — and our deployment playbook will be written by you.## What you'll do* Lead technical scoping and pre-sale demos with utilities, DISCOMs, and large C&I customers; translate their constraints into deployable scope.* Own pilots end-to-end — site survey, install plan, commissioning of loggers, platform configuration, and acceptance sign-off.* Embed with DISCOM and utility teams post-deployment; integrate Trillectric with their SCADA, AMI, and reporting workflows.* Run the first 90 days of operations on the ground — train operators, debug field issues, and close the loop with engineering.* Turn every deployment into a product input: capture gaps, write up fixes, and push them into the roadmap.* Build the Forward Deployed playbook — the install kit, the runbooks, the integration patterns — so the next deployment is faster.## What we're looking for* 6+ years across solutions engineering, field engineering, deployment engineering, or customer engineering — ideally in energy, telematics, IoT, or industrial software.* Comfortable owning a customer relationship from first technical conversation through scaled rollout, including the uncomfortable conversations.* Hands-on with at least one of: SCADA, Modbus, MQTT, AMI head-end systems, or substation telemetry stacks. You don't need all of them — you need to learn the rest fast.* Can read and write code well enough to ship a config change, write a small integration script, or debug an API contract without waiting for backend.* Willing to travel heavily across India — DISCOMs don't come to Delhi.* Calm under field pressure: a logger is down, the GM is in the room, the rain has started. You handle it.* Bonus: prior exposure to Indian DISCOMs, rooftop solar, or regulated utility procurement.
