IT Senior Officer – Operations (IDC) – 22000455

Responsible for supervising the operation of Computer applications, hardware systems, network and related infrastructure and ensuring all of them are functional and secure. Set controls on computers and devices to run jobs. Effective monitoring of Production environments of IT applications and infrastructure on a 24 x 7 Operations with Disaster Recovery and BCP Planning, which includes IT solutions / Services hosted outside FZ.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Supervise day-to-day operations of Data Centre and coordination.
  2. Monitor systems availability and corresponding support processes based on the agreed processes.
  3. Monitor the availability of 24/7 Corporate Network infrastructure and Data Centers to ensure availability of all servers and services required by flydubai.
  4. Carry out Disaster Recovery drills as per agreed plan and provide status updates to relevant stakeholders.
  5. Conduct scheduled backups and batch jobs as per the schedule and ensure their success.
  6. Follow IT operations governance process.
  7. Participate actively with Manager – IT Production Services in IT planning and supporting organic growth.
  8. Execute tasks ensuring services perform to agreed-upon SLAs.
  9. Assist in resolution of issues within an ITIL framework, managing escalations as required.
  10. Prepare operational performance metrics and status across IT infrastructure, applications, and networks for Manager – IT Production Services.
  11. Work with internal teams, outsourcing & hosting partners to ensure incidents are resolved timely.
  12. Optimize performance and continuously improve productivity.
  13. Ensure all changes in IT Production environments are carried out based on processes laid out by Manager – IT Production Services.
  14. Coordinate with all impacted parties on IT releases and deployments across all business units.
  15. Develop and maintain Operations manual documenting all processes and procedures.
  16. Ensure hardware, peripherals, and devices are in working condition and faulty ones are replaced or repaired without affecting 24×7 Operations.
  17. Maintain contacts and escalation points for each service.
  18. Monitor health of UPS units and conduct simulation runs regularly.
  19. Monitor and maintain air conditioners, water alarms, fire alarms, and power protection systems in IT Data Centers.
  20. Oversee maintenance of hardware, air conditioners, and UPS at agreed intervals.
  21. Monitor licensing and maintenance contracts related to IT Production environments.
  22. Participate in complex infrastructure implementations, system upgrades, and operational troubleshooting.
  23. Plan and simulate regular restoring from backup exercises.
  24. Ensure necessary approvals are obtained timely for day-to-day operations and incident management.
  25. Carry out changes to FZ IT Production environments as per agreed Tier level maintenance windows.
  26. Assist in audit exercises and implement process improvement activities.
  27. Work closely with Manager – IT Production Services and FZ IT sections to meet growing demands.
  28. Interact directly with vendors with minimal supervision to drive expected outcomes.
  29. Manage monitoring standards for all components of Infrastructure and Applications.
  30. Suggest improvements for current systems based on awareness of bug fixes and new releases.
  31. Assist the Manager IT Production Services on assessments and proof of concepts on new/alternate tools/technology.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Minimum Qualification
  • A university degree in business or technology. BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Business.
Experience
  • 6+ years total experience, including 3+ years in a production 24/7 high-availability multi-site enterprise.
  • Experience in the travel or airline industry.
  • Extensive relevant technical and business experience, including in-depth knowledge of IT processes.
  • Experience with Travel Reservation System or similar critical systems.
  • Experience analyzing and identifying issues and risks in performance, availability, and capacity.
  • Experience maintaining compliant operations and ensuring successful audits.
Knowledge / Skills
  • Strong ITIL Release Management process knowledge.
  • Proven knowledge of IT infrastructure, architecture, applications development and support, networks, and computer operations.
  • Broad technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
  • PC literacy and MSOffice skills required.
  • Good understanding of FTP, SFTP, LAN/WAN, communication protocols.
Certificate / License required
  • Certification in ITIL
