Job summary

Quest Global is hiring for a senior engineering role focused on Basic and Detail Engineering for Thermal Power, Combined Cycle and Supercritical plants. You will handle P&ID creation/review, device summaries, and plant layout tasks while coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires ownership of design decisions, cost-aware feasibility, and experience with AVEVA Diagram/Engineering and AutoCAD tools. Strong communication with customers is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in Basic and Detail Engineering from Thermal Power Plants, Combined Cycle and Supercritical Power plants.
• Strong understanding of ITO inputs (Inquiry to Order) – Technical Proposal.
• Experience in P&ID preparation and review with Device summary settings for Turbine and Generator accessories.
• Experience in Plant layout drawings, GA, technical specs, data sheets, and commissioning spare parts lists.
• Proven ownership and decision-making in design, cost feasibility, and manufacturing considerations.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary interface with customers, implementing design requirements and changes, and verifying tasks.
• Plan, execute, and deliver tasks on time with cost-effectiveness and quality.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Customers, Suppliers, Configuration and Electrical teams.

Job description

• Should have 5+ experience in Basic and Detail Engineering experience from Thermal Power Plant, Combined Cycle and Supercritical Power plants with extensive experience in Main Plant accessories
• Should able to understand the ITO inputs (Inquiry to Order) – Technical Proposal
• Should have extensive experience in P&ID preparation and review with associated Device summary settings for Turbine and Generator Accessories Systems. (e.g. Water, Fuel, Oil , Air, Cooling Systems).
• Should able to handle the Product Cost out activities per project requirement
• P&ID and Device Summary (Instrumentation) Creation and Modification in AVEVA DIAGRAM and AVEVA Engineering Tool, AutoCADD toll added advantage
• Should have experience in Plant layout drawings such as General Arrangement Drawing, Technical Specification, Data Sheet & Technical Bid Evaluation and Commissioning spare parts list
• Should have very good experience in Piping, Tubing and all associated fittings, Valves and also Plant layout drawings (GA, Plot Plan)
• Should have experience in developing new Arrangement drawings & BOM in line with P&ID Schematics
• Should have experience in preparation of Ordering Specification/Functional Specifications Modification Kit
• Should have very good experience in Preparing FMI (Field Modification Instruction manual).
• Should have demonstrated ownership & decision‑making of the design, considering cost, feasibility in manufacturing and fabrication.
• Should have served as primary interface with customers and have demonstrated the implementation of design requirements, design changes, analysis, and verification of the each task.
• Planning the tasks, executing and delivering on time, with cost effective and quality.
• Should have excellent Coordination skills with all Cross‑Functional Teams such as Customers (Tech Leads, Chief Engineers), Suppliers, Configuration Team, Electrical Team etc.
• Engineers should have confidence with autonomy to deliver as work package is critical

Qualification

BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering experience from Thermal/Aero/Simple/Combined Cycle Power Plant Experience
