Job summary

Bechtel in Gurugram is seeking a Financial Statutory Reporting Accountant to manage draft financial statements, audits, and tax schedules in compliance with Indian standards.

The role interfaces with statutory auditors, tax consultants, and internal teams; requires CA Inter or ICWA Inter advantage, 3–5 years accounting experience, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field and 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• CA (Inter)/ICWA Inter will be added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards and IFRS.
• Knowledge of WHT, GST and Corporate Tax.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Preparing and review of draft financial statements as per the applicable laws.
• Preparing / reviewing audit schedules including tax audit schedules.
• Interface with statutory and tax auditors for the completion of audits in the stipulated timelines.
• Has thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting including ledger scrutiny and tax compliances including GST, WHT.

Job Summary:

• Reports directly to Financial Reporting Supervisor (India) and interfaces with statutory auditors, direct tax and indirect tax consultants.
• Actively advertises with other departments and follows up on corrective actions.
• Coordinates with other verticals including general ledger, compliance, and reconciliation teams to ensure that information required, supporting both internal and local statutory requirements are obtained and provided in a timely manner.
• Perform special studies or analyses from time to time as needed and requested by supervisors and managers.

Major Responsibilities:

• Preparing and review of draft financial statements as per the applicable laws.
• Preparing / reviewing audit schedules including tax audit schedules.
• Interface with statutory and tax auditors for the completion of audits in the stipulated timelines.
• Has thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting including ledger scrutiny as well as tax compliances including GST, WHT.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field and at 3-5 years of accounting experience.
• CA (Inter)/ICWA Inter will be added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of financial reporting & financials.
• Basic skills in the areas of oral and written communications, MS Office suite of applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Thorough knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards.
• Should possess knowledge of WHT, GST Tax and Corporate Tax.
• Good analytical skills.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to transmit effectively both orally and in writing.
• Must have audit experience in a large organization, in terms of interaction and co-ordination with the auditors for the finalization of statutory financials.
• Comprehension of generally received accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable accounting methods.
• Must have reliable, diligent, conscientious, and function well in a team environment.
• The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable and have the ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude and maintain composure under stress.
• The ideal candidate must be 'self-starter' capable of working independently, taking initiative identifying and resolving issues, managing workload, and handling correspondence.
• The ideal candidate must possess good organization skills, ability to provide constant attention to detail, and have ability to apply quality control over a heavy volume work with tight deadlines.
