Job summary

EY's Global Delivery Services in India is seeking an experienced FAAS MS Manager for Financial Reporting to lead engagement delivery, GAAP conversions, and high-quality financial reporting for clients. You will manage a 7–10 member team, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive technical accounting excellence.

Applicants should have IFRS/GAAP expertise, SEC filing experience, and 5+ years in FAAS/financial reporting.

Qualifications

• CA, ACCA (UK), or CPA qualification is required.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in FAAS/financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Managing engagement delivery Financial Accounting and Reporting and GAAP conversions.
• Providing advice and assisting client team in accounting change (IFRS adoption, revenue recognition, lease accounting).
• Identify and develop business opportunities; manage accounts
• Leading a team of 7-10 team members including engagement PMO activities
• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders and internal partners to resolve issues
• Coach junior team members and drive technical excellence
• Review the work performed by team members
• Integrate with other EY service lines on multi-disciplinary projects
• Develop and deliver accounting technical trainings
• Ensure quality in client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork and engagement status
• Involved in hiring and mentoring the team
• Apply accounting concepts and professional standards to complex client situations

Global Delivery Services refers to EY's worldwide network of service delivery centers. The GDS team plays an important role in EY’s strategy by ensuring effective support to EY’s growth agenda.

The Opportunity

We're looking for incumbents who is responsible for the timeliness and quality of the work as per Project requirements for our FAAS team and possess strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge. The role requires prior experience and knowledge of financial reporting activities.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Managing engagement delivery Financial Accounting and Reporting and GAAP conversions.


• Providing advice and assisting client team in accounting change (First time IFRS adoption, revenue recognition, lease accounting), accounting policy manuals and technical accounting memorandums


• Identify and develop business opportunities; manage accounts


• Leading a team of 7-10 team members including engagement PMO activities


• Maintain effective coordination with multiple stakeholders. Be compatible with business accounting teams and internal partners to resolve issues


• Coach junior team members, encourage technical excellence and learning


• Detailed review of the work performed by the team members


• Integrate with other EY service lines on multi-disciplinary projects


• Developing and delivering accounting technical trainings


• Ensure quality in delivering client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork, informing Supervisors of engagement status


• Engaged in hiring of team members, structured learning path and operations mentor for the team


• Demonstrate a good understanding of accounting concepts; stay informed of professional standards and firm policies (e.g., guidelines of the EY FAAS Policy Manual); and effectively apply this knowledge to moderately difficult and/or complex client situation

Skills and attributes for success

• Expert knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP, UK GAAP etc


• Experience in having filed 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K with SEC, or else being a part of corporate finance team of listed company and having made quarterly and annual financial filings to stock exchanges.


• Extensive experience in the following areas:


• Financial statement preparation and consolidation process


• GAAP conversions and adoption of new accounting standards


• Drafting accounting policies and writing technical memorandums


• Technical accounting advisory on complex topics (e.g. financial instruments, deferred tax, business combinations, consolidation, debt/equity etc.)


• Ability to explain & manage complex accounting and financial reporting issues

To qualify for the role, you must have

• CA, ACCA (UK), or CPA


• 5+ years relevant experience
