Job summary

UBS in Hyderabad/Pune seeks a Financial Controller to oversee accounting for multiple products, review daily P&L and balance sheet controls, and reconcile feeds to the general ledger. You will implement robust controls, support audits, and drive process improvements using AI and automation tools.

Ideal candidates have CFA level 2/3 and prior product control/financial reporting experience, with strong analytical and communication skills and familiarity with tools like Alteryx, Python and Power BI.

Qualifications

Your role

Does financial management excite you?

Are you keen to keep a track of financial markets and how events in markets impact the P&L and Balance sheet of trading desks?

Do you have a curious mind and get excited about investigating complex issues, identifying root causes, and delivering solutions?

We’re looking for a financial controller to:

• Accounting Knowledge of various Financial products over their lifetime.
• Implement accounting controls and manage their governance
• compile and analyze financial information for FX / Equity Derivatives / Cash Equities / SLF products, review daily P&L and Balance sheet controls and work closely with the team to resolve issue, escalation needed and be accountable for daily P&L and Balance sheet production
• reconcile trade capture system feeds to the general ledger and manage journal entries
• prepare financial statements and other financial reports for the business and external auditors
• collaborate on continuous improvement of quality, efficiency and effectiveness of controls
• comply with requests from internal and external auditors, Internal testing teams
• Innovate through agile working and automation
• Month end close of P&L and balance sheet, trial balance substantiation
• Knowledge of Tools Like Alteryx, Python, VBA, Power BI etc is an added advantage

You’ll be working in the FX / Equity Derivatives / Cash Equities / SLF in Pune/Hyderabad . We work closely with teams in Zurich and FX traders based across the globe providing them with Management P&L. As a financial controller, you’ll play an important role in making available this vital information to trading desks.

Your expertise

• CFA level 2/3 cleared or equivalent in accounting or related field
• ideally previous experience in a similar role focusing on product control, financial reporting and reconciliation
• demonstrated knowledge of product controls
• know-how to develop a robust set of controls to the financials (cost and revenue) of a global business
• analytical and methodical, with great attention to detail
• excellent communicator who can adapt style to audience
• Strong digital mindset with curiosity and aptitude for applying AI and emerging technologies in a business context.
• Prefer hands on experience using tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Power Automate (or equivalent AI tools); Python experience is an advantage.
