Job summary

Maersk in India seeks an experienced Cost Controlling professional to lead month-end close, cost analysis, and financial reporting across costing activities. The role emphasizes control framework, process standardization, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Cost accounting or CA/MBA in finance with knowledge of financial control framework.
• 7+ years in cost controlling, cost accounting, and P&L analysis.
• Strong analytical and structured working method.
• Excellent written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

• Manage preparation of month end close reporting.
• Strong exposure to Month-end Close, GL Accounting and Balance sheet reconciliation.
• Review & validate cost records and analyse cost trend per cost center.
• Conduct moderately complex cost audits under limited supervision.
• Ensure all necessary controls and compliance checks are performed on periodic basis and duly signed off.
• Perform detailed cost analysis and provide explanations/ cost drivers behind periodic variance.
• Ensure accurate and timely cost reporting.
• Develop recommendations and implement changes to processes and systems that will minimise risk, improve performance and productivity.
• Standardize and align processes across different company codes.

Key activities/responsibilities would be:

Required experience & skills

• Solid financial educational background as Cost Accountant, Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance and good understanding of control framework.
• Minimum 7 years of experience within cost controlling, cost accounting, P&L analysis etc.
• Self-motivated and continuously looks for opportunities to improve financial reporting and processes by exploring new approaches and ideas.
• Excellent analytical and structured working method.
• High competency in written and verbal English.
• Adapts easily to a fast-changing environment and ability to handle phases with high workload and unplanned activities.
• Team player - works together with others to achieve results and fosters teamwork.
• Shipping/ Transportation industry experience would be an added advantage but not mandatory.
