Job summary

Amazon India in Bengaluru is seeking a Finance Analyst to support VAT accounting within the FOAA VAT team. The role focuses on month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting to stakeholders.

Candidates should have CA with 0–4 years, strong Excel/SQL skills, and knowledge of GST/VAT. The position offers exposure to audits, internal controls, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• CA with 0-4 years post-qualification experience in month-end closing and VAT/GST reporting.
• Experience in sub-ledgers and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform/Support month end activities including closing sub-ledgers, journal prep, GL reconciliations, reporting and balance sheet analysis.
• Prepare month end Flux analysis for P&L and balance sheet accounts and share with stakeholders with reasons for changes.
• Demonstrate professional accounting knowledge and apply it to resolve complex issues and consult leadership for resolution.
• Ensure financial policies, procedures and internal controls are in place and identify process improvements.
• Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations (VAT related) and highlight issues for action.
• Interact with auditors on audit queries for smooth completion of audits.
• Support GRC compliance and align improvements with stakeholders.
• Support new business/system launches including UAT of accounting entries and reporting.

FOAA is seeking a Finance Analyst to support our VAT Accounting team (Indirect Tax).

Key Roles And Responsibilities Are

• Perform/Support the month end activities which include closing of sub ledgers, journal preparation, general ledger account reconciliations, reporting and balance sheet account analysis.
• Prepare month end Flux analysis for all P&L and Balance sheet accounts and share with Stakeholders along with the analysis on the reasons for the changes.
• Demonstrate a proficient level of professional skill and knowledge in accounting and apply this in-depth knowledge, principles and systems design to recognize complex and unique issues and develop resolution and/or consistently consult with leadership in order to achieve resolution
• Ensure appropriate financial policies, procedures and internal controls are in place, documented and also work on process improvements.
• Responsible for Preparing Balance sheet reconciliations (reconciliations with VAT Tax returns/sub-ledger reports) and highlighting and taking necessary action upon the issues appropriately.
• Interact and working closely with the auditors on audit related queries and ensure smooth completion of the audits .
• Responsible for GRC compliance, internal control and get the alignment of improvements/changes with the Stakeholder.
• Perform and support new business/system launches including UAT of the accounting entries and financial reporting.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience using data to influence business decisions
• CA with 0-4 years of post qualification experience in Month end closing of Books of accounts/working on various sub-ledgers/Accounting Knowledge/Balance Sheet Reconciliation, GST/VAT (Indirect tax) and Reporting activities.
• CA with 0-4 years of post qualification experience in Month end closing of Books of accounts/working on various sub-ledgers/Accounting Knowledge/Balance Sheet Reconciliation, GST/VAT (Indirect tax) and Reporting activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL and VBA skills
• Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
• Experience with MS Office, in particular MS Excel
• GST or VAT (Indirect tax) knowledge in accounting/compliance.
