Job summary

Welspun World is seeking a finance professional to lead complex financial modelling for renewable energy projects and to support strategic decision making at the executive level.

The role covers project finance, valuation, cash flow analysis, and long-term planning within a dynamic renewable energy portfolio, with interaction across development, engineering, and commercial teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex financial models for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, storage, hybrid).
• Build project finance, valuation, and cash flow models to assess feasibility, profitability, and financing structure.
• Conduct scenario, sensitivity, and risk analyses to evaluate key assumptions and investment outcomes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term business planning activities.
• Provide financial insights to the CEO and executives; prepare investment memos and board materials.
• Monitor capital structure and financing performance across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Modelling & Analysis

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex financial models for renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, battery storage, and hybrid energy assets.
• Build project finance, valuation, and cash flow models to assess project feasibility, profitability, and financing structures.
• Conduct scenario, sensitivity, and risk analyses to evaluate key business assumptions and investment outcomes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term business planning activities.

Strategic Decision Support

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and executive leadership team.
• Evaluate new business opportunities, acquisitions, partnerships, and market expansion initiatives.
• Prepare investment memoranda, board presentations, and strategic reports.
• Analyze industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics affecting the renewable energy sector.

Fundraising & Corporate Finance

• Support debt and equity fundraising processes.
• Assist in financial due diligence and interactions with lenders, investors, and advisors.
• Develop financial materials required for investor presentations and financing discussions.
• Monitor capital structure and financing performance across the portfolio.

Performance Monitoring

• Track project and corporate financial performance against budgets and business plans.
• Develop management dashboards and KPI frameworks.
• Identify performance improvement opportunities through data-driven analysis.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with project development, engineering, commercial, legal, and finance teams.
• Present analyses and recommendations to senior management and external stakeholders.
• Support board and investor reporting requirements.
