Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Financial Analyst to lead financial planning, budgeting, and reporting within the Finance team. The role partners across the firm to provide strategic financial analysis, budgeting coordination, and management reporting.

You will analyze data, create business cases, and deliver actionable insights to senior management while driving automation and process improvements to reduce cycle times. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or a technical field is required.

Job description

You are a strategic thinker passionate about driving solutions in financial analysis. You have found the right team.

As a Financial Analyst in our Finance team, you will spend each day defining, refining, and delivering key planning and reporting outcomes for our firm. As a Financial Analysis Associate in our Finance team, you will spend each day partnering across the firm to provide financial and strategic analysis, oversight, and coordination of budgeting and forecasting, including analysis of financial and business metrics and delivery of weekly/monthly/quarterly management reporting. You will be responsible for analyzing, preparing, and reconciling accounting and technical data, maintaining financial and reporting systems, and driving automation and process improvements to streamline cycle times while supporting special projects as needed.

Job responsibilities
  • Manage annual and ongoing financial planning for product areas, including month-end performance, forecasting decisions, budgeting, billing, and demand/consumption analysis.
  • Produce efficiency reporting, analytics, and strategy outputs, including location strategy, span of control, and related reporting.
  • Create financial business cases to support business initiatives and investment decisions.
  • Monitor key metrics, drive data quality initiatives, and help define future reporting and analytical needs for the product area.
  • Develop and track performance metrics and deliver executive-ready presentations and analysis for senior management.
  • Perform variance analysis to identify key drivers and provide clear commentary on changes versus prior forecasts and budgets.
  • Design new reports and dashboards to deliver financial results efficiently to senior management.
  • Strengthen controls and streamline processes by introducing automation where possible.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a subject of a technical nature
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with data mining/gathering and manipulation of data sets
  • Inquisitive, enthusiastic and diligent, and capable of challenging peers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly
  • Ability to create ad hoc reporting for senior management
  • Proven track record for executing on special projects / assignments, often with little lead time or information
  • Highly motivated and able to thrive and think clearly under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Team player with the ability to be respected as a trusted partner for the Business, Finance, and FP&A Teams
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management/prioritization skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 5+ years of work experience, preferably in Financial Services, and/or accounting/controller background
