Job summary

Institute of Management Accountants, Inc. is seeking a Financial Accounting professional to consolidate annual reports, perform variance analysis and oversee AR/GRS for regional submissions. The role emphasizes accuracy under tight deadlines and strong communication with the in-country team.

The candidate will drive process improvements, automate reporting using Python/SQL, and ensure IFRS and regulatory reporting standards are met across a global finance framework.

Qualifications

• CA / ICWA / MBA (Finance) with 1 year post-qualification relevant experience in Financial and Management Reporting will be considered.
• B. Com / M.COM/ CA Inter with minimum 4 years of relevant experience will be considered.
• Past experience in Financial and Management Reporting, External/ Regulatory reporting of Legal entity financials and supplementary reports. Experience of Banking Industry is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Preparation & consolidation for Annual Reports & accounts.
• Strong analytical skills for variance analysis.
• Preparation of advanced level Analytical Review ("AR") and Group Review Schedules ("GRS") for Regional submission on quarterly basis.
• Review and Approval of all journals.
• Strong technical knowledge of Accounting and reporting principles.
• In-depth functional experience in accounting for all balance sheet / income statement heads.
• Ability to meet KPI timelines including under stringent time lines and high pressure situations.
• Excellent communication skills to be able to manage the In-country team on a daily basis.
• Drive new projects/assignments/process: Identify, Drive, Build & operate it as BAU.
• The ability to work to a high degree of accuracy under pressure is important as during the reporting periods the team is required to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize and plan work in an efficient manner.
• Performing UAT/Dry Runs on different Change requests.
• Experience in Data mining, analysis, Financial Statements, IFRS and Audit/Compliance
• Ability to plan and implement change to Business Frameworks, reporting hierarchies, allocation rules and mappings
• Good communication and ability to interact with multiple employee levels/business partners, etc.
• Strong relationship management skills across a diverse organization, especially with senior management
• Ability to understand, map and change reporting process-flows
• Experience of Visualization tools like Qlik Sense, Tableau, Power BI, Vizlib, Looker or similar tools will be added advantage
• Business Finance Actuals Reporting (Global, by region, by product, by segment) and BAU change initiatives
• Drive Reporting improvements incorporating feedback from CFO, business reviews, process changes from transformation initiatives that impact business reporting from time to time
• Data management processes that involve Submissions to Financial and reporting systems, working/ calculations that feed front office, intermediary and ledgers. All other associated process looking at data sanity, clean up that fall within the remit of Data Operations
• Demonstrating agility to incorporate management reporting change requests on the back of business and finance initiatives
• Expert level proficiency in working on Global reporting systems commonly used in Banks
• Review and challenge assumptions, provide suggestions to enhance Reporting improvements
• Collaborate across In-country and GFOC stakeholders to align Reporting with business submissions

Process Improvements-

• Continuous review of process with the objective of improving the resource utilization, time taken and quality of deliverables. Automate process using tools like Python, Xceptor, VBA or using SQL
• Implement projects for enhancing operational efficiency using automation tools, support Visualisation initiatives and drive standardization

Governance -

• Ensure service delivery of the designated finance processes per the standards set out in agreed SLAs within the HSBC operating framework taking into account key operational risk (including people & processes)
• Ensure all processes are correctly and thoroughly documented (SOPs and Process Maps)
• Maintain monthly reporting timetable via Achieve for both routine and ad-hoc tasks and strict adherence to Achieve

Skills/Experience Required

• Advance knowledge of MS Excel and basic knowledge of MS Access.
• Ability to automate reports to derive efficiency saves through programming languages and tools like Python, SQL, VBA
• Good knowledge of IFRS mainly IFRS9.

• Good understanding of Banking products.

• Exposure to Financial reporting (Exposure to IFRS/FINREP/Central bank reporting will be an added advantage)

• Advanced capability to understand, analyse and interpret numeric data.

• Project management skills with an ability to initiate process improvements.

• Excellent Communication and Inter person skills - Both verbal and written
