Job summary

Betterbeans Consultants Pvt Ltd in India seeks a qualified accountant to own accounting activities, deliver monthly financial reporting for international offices, review P&L and balance sheets, and manage audit processes.

You will coordinate statutory audits, handle audit information requests, liaise with regional finance leads and external auditors, and apply professional judgement across accounting treatments, reconciliations and journals.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with a recognised professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CA India or equivalent).
• Strong post-qualification experience in financial accounting and management/statutory reporting.
• Experience owning accounting activities with limited supervision.
• Experience coordinating statutory audits with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Knowledge of IFRS/UK GAAP or other international/local frameworks.
• Experience with multi-entity or international organisations.

Job description

• Take ownership of the preparation, review and delivery of monthly financial reporting for designated international offices and entities, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely and appropriately supported.
• Prepare and critically review profit and loss accounts, identifying and explaining significant movements, emerging trends, risks and opportunities.
• Review balance sheets and supporting reconciliations, investigating aged, unusual or unsupported balances and working with relevant colleagues to resolve issues promptly.
• Lead the financial coordination of assigned international statutory audits, working closely with regional finance leads, local finance teams, external auditors and other internal stakeholders.
• Manage audit information requests and deliverables, ensuring that schedules and supporting evidence are accurate, complete and provided within agreed deadlines.
• Act as a key point of contact for assigned offices and entities, responding to accounting and reporting matters with a practical, collaborative and commercially aware approach.
• Apply sound professional judgement when reviewing accounting treatments, reconciliations and financial information, escalating significant or complex matters where appropriate.

Required experience and skills

• Qualified accountant, or equivalent, with a recognised professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA India or another relevant international qualification.
• Strong post-qualification or equivalent practical experience in financial accounting, management reporting, statutory reporting or audit.
• Demonstrable experience of taking ownership of accounting activities and delivering high-quality outputs with limited day-to-day supervision.
• Experience coordinating or playing a significant role in statutory audits, including managing audit requests and working with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of profit and loss reporting, balance sheet management, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and intercompany accounting.
• Experience gained within a complex, multi-entity or international organisation.
• Previous experience in professional services, legal services or another partnership environment.
• Knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP or other relevant international and local accounting frameworks.
• Experience using Elite 3E or a comparable finance or ERP system.
• Experience of working with colleagues and stakeholders across multiple locations and time zones.
