About theRole
We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager / AGM –Finance to lead the finance and accounts function for a growingengineering/manufacturing organization. The role will be responsible for theoverall finance function, including financial reporting, MIS, budgeting,taxation, audits, statutory compliance, investor coordination, banking andcommercial finance activities. The ideal candidate should have strong exposureto a manufacturing/engineering environment and be capable of managing bothstrategic and day-to-day finance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Finance & MIS
- Lead the overall finance and accountingfunction.
- Prepare and review monthly MIS, financialstatements and management reports.
- Provide management with timely financialinsights for business decision-making.
- Monitor financial performance against budgetsand identify key variances.
- Drive financial controls, processes and internalsystems.
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations and ensuretimely closure of accounts.
2. Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecastingprocess.
- Prepare budgets in coordination with businessand functional teams.
- Monitor actuals against budgets and providevariance analysis.
- Support management in financial planning andcost optimization initiatives.
- Work independently with external/Big 4 auditorson budgeting, financial reviews and related requirements.
3. Audit & Compliance
- Manage statutory, internal and financial audits.
- Coordinate with external auditors, including Big4 firms where applicable.
- Handle investor-related audits, reviews andinformation requirements.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations andimplementation of corrective actions.
- Maintain robust financial controls andcompliance processes.
4. Taxation
- Oversee direct and indirect taxation matters.
- Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, incometax and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with tax consultants and advisors.
- Support tax audits, assessments and otherstatutory requirements.
5. Investor & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the finance point of contact forinvestors and senior stakeholders.
- Coordinate investor-related financialinformation, reporting and activities.
- Prepare financial data and analysis required forinvestor discussions and reviews.
- Work closely with senior management on businessand financial matters.
6. Banking & Working Capital
- Manage relationships with banks and financialinstitutions.
- Act as an intermediary between the organizationand bankers.
- Oversee working capital, cash flow, fundrequirements and banking documentation.
- Monitor receivables, payables and overall cashposition.
- Support management in financing andbanking-related discussions.
7. Company Secretarial / Corporate Compliance
- Independently handle Company Secretarial (CS)functions and related statutory requirements.
- Work with external CS/legal advisors whereverrequired.
- Support Board, investor and regulatorydocumentation and compliance activities.
8. ERP & Systems
- Drive effective use of ERP systems for financeand accounting processes.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics / SAP will bepreferred.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial datawithin the ERP.
- Identify opportunities for improving financeprocesses through systems and automation.
9. Team Management
- Lead and manage a finance and accounts team ofapproximately 10–12 members.
- Allocate responsibilities, monitor performanceand develop team capability.
- Establish clear processes, controls andaccountability within the finance function.
Requirements
CandidateProfile
- Approximately 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong experience in engineering/manufacturingorganizations.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting,MIS, budgeting and financial controls.
- Good exposure to direct and indirect taxation.
- Experience managing statutory, internal andinvestor-related audits.
- Experience dealing with Big 4 audit firms willbe an advantage.
- Exposure to investor interactions and reporting.
- Experience handling or coordinating CompanySecretarial functions.
- Strong banking and working-capital managementexperience.
- Hands-on experience with SAP / MicrosoftDynamics or similar ERP systems.
- Proven experience managing a finance team.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving anddecision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication andstakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to independently manage the financefunction while remaining hands-on with day-to-day operations.
