Job summary

Maven Labs in Bengaluru, India, is seeking a detail-oriented Finance Manager to own our finance, accounting, compliance, and financial operations as we scale. You will build a strong finance function from scratch, ensure accurate reporting, manage cash flow, and drive data-driven decisions with the founders and leadership team.

Key objectives include robust internal controls, timely statutory compliance, and insightful management reporting to support fundraising and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day finance and accounting operations, including books, reconciliations, payables, receivables, and month-end closing
• Prepare MIS reports, P&L, balance sheet, cash-flow statements, budgets, and financial dashboards
• Manage cash flow, working capital, payments, and treasury
• Lead GST, TDS, income tax, ROC, statutory compliance, audits with external professionals
• Collaborate with CAs, auditors, banks, and other financial partners
• Build and maintain strong financial controls, processes and approval systems
• Support fundraising, due diligence, investor reporting, and financial documentation
• Analyze performance, costs, unit economics, and spending for cost optimisation and profitability
• Build financial models and forecasts for business planning and strategic decisions
• Identify financial risks and propose solutions to founders

Job description

We are an early-stage Consumer AI startup looking for a detail-oriented and commercially minded Finance Manager to take ownership of our finance, accounting, compliance, and financial operations.

You will work closely with the founders and leadership team to build a strong finance function from the ground up, ensuring accurate financial reporting, efficient cash management, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision-making as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day finance and accounting operations, including books of accounts, reconciliations, payables, receivables, and month-end closing.
• Prepare MIS reports, P&L, balance sheet, cash-flow statements, budgets, and financial dashboards for management.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, payments, and treasury to ensure efficient use of company funds.
• Lead GST, TDS, income tax, ROC, statutory compliance, audits, and other regulatory requirements in coordination with external professionals.
• Work closely with CAs, auditors, tax advisors, banks, payment gateways, and other financial partners.
• Build and maintain strong financial controls, processes, documentation, and approval systems.
• Support fundraising, due diligence, investor reporting, valuation exercises, and financial documentation.
• Analyse business performance, costs, unit economics, and spending to identify opportunities for cost optimisation and improved profitability.
• Build financial models and forecasts to support business planning and strategic decisions.
• Identify financial risks and proactively recommend solutions to the founders.
