What is the team & role about?

Bright Money is looking for a Lead – Finance to anchor the finance function across our India and US entities. The role owns the monthly close, financial reporting, statutory and tax compliance, audit, FP&A, and treasury operations — and leads a team of accounts executives and assistant managers. You will partner closely with the leadership team to translate financial data into decisions that move the business forward.

What you will do?
  • Financial Close & Reporting: Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for India and US entities. Ensure accurate, timely financial statements in line with Ind AS and US GAAP.
  • Statutory & Tax Compliance: Lead all India and US filings — GST, TDS, PT, PF, ESI, Income Tax, sales tax, and annual returns. Track regulatory changes and ensure the company stays ahead of them.
  • Audit Management: Own statutory, tax, internal, and investor due diligence audits end-to-end — plan, coordinate, prepare schedules, resolve queries, and close findings.
  • Controls & Process: Design and enforce internal controls across AP, AR, payroll, expense management, and inter-company transactions. Drive process improvements and automation across the close cycle.
  • Revenue & Collections: Oversee revenue recognition, reconciliations of credit operations, and collections reporting. Identify leakage and drive corrective action.
  • Business Partnership: Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to leadership while recommending further courses of action. Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and actual performance vs business plans.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead the finance team — set goals, review work, coach team members, and create a framework for execution. Hire, onboard, and develop accounts executives and assistant managers.
Experience & Background:
  • Strong accounting fundamentals
  • Strong working knowledge of Ind AS and US GAAP
  • Demonstrated experience managing close and reporting across multiple entities and geographies
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian statutory compliance — GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act, FEMA
  • Hands‑on experience with Tally, QuickBooks, and modern ERP / close tools
  • Advanced Excel and comfort with financial modelling
  • Track record of owning audits end‑to‑end
  • Experience with FP&A: budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, unit economics, and management reporting
  • Treasury experience — cash flow planning, banking relationships, fund movements between entities, and working capital management
  • Strong analytical skills, sound independent judgement, and the ability to translate numbers into clear narratives for leadership
  • Proven ability to build, coach, and retain a high‑performing finance team
  • Ownership mindset — comfortable operating in ambiguity, prioritising ruthlessly, and shipping clean outcomes
Mindset & Operating DNA:
  • Minimum 4-7 years of experience
  • B.Com / MBA in Finance or CA preferred
  • CPA is an advantage
  • Experience in a fintech, NBFC, lending, or high‑growth product company
  • Exposure to US tax and sales tax compliance
  • Experience managing multiple entities and geographies
  • Eager to learn and drive the adoption of AI tools across finance and accounting workflows
What Bright Offers?

  • Real ownership: You run your own BU with an independent P&L.
  • Wealth creation: Equity at an inflection stage of scale.
  • A data‑driven, high‑cadence culture that combines consulting rigor with FinTech speed.
