Job summary

Steadvista, a Bengaluru-based tech company, is seeking a Head of Finance to lead the financial strategy, planning, and operations. The role focuses on governance, budgeting, and data-driven decision-making to support growth and ensure compliance.

You will oversee accounting, FP&A, and regulatory compliance, partnering with the CEO to craft long-term plans, fundraising strategies, and capital allocation. This is a high-ownership, cross-functional leadership position.

Head of Finance

Role Overview

The Head of Finance is responsible for leading the companys financial strategy, planning, and operations. This role ensures financial health, compliance, and supports business growth through data-driven decision-making. The role involves accounting and business finance, which means a deeper integration and understanding of Business is key. The role involves three areas: Part 1: The fundamentals, Part 2: The analysis, Part 3 innovation and Improvements

Part 1: The Fundamentals

• Leadership: Build and lead the finance team (accounting, FP&A, compliance) + High ownership
• Strategy: Define and drive the companys financial strategy aligned with business goals
• Strategy: Partner with CEO/founders on long-term planning, fundraising, and capital allocation
• Accounting & Compliance: Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and audits
• Accounting & Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., MCA, GST, Income Tax in India)
• Accounting & Compliance: Manage internal controls and risk frameworks
• Cash-flow: Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity. Manage banking relationships and debt
• Cash-flow: Optimize cost structures and capital efficiency
• Collaborate: across-functionally with operations, sales, and product teams

Part 2: The Analysis

• FP&A: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
• FP&A: Track performance vs. plan and identify risks/opportunities
• FP&A: Build dashboards and MIS reporting for leadership
• Data Readiness: build real-time dashboards tied to revenue, margins, CAC, inventory, cash etc.
• Investment: Build investor decks, financial models, and due diligence materials
• Investment: Manage ongoing investor reporting and communication

Part 3: The Innovation and Improvements

• AI & Automation: Integrate (engineering team will support) automation of processes and improve quality and speed of decision-making.
• Re-engineer Processes: Ability to reengineer processes for better and smarter outcomes. Build scalable systems and processes within the compliance framework.
• Independent Systems: Ability to define systems and processes to scale. Eg: An automated credit system for clients.

Nice to Have

• Previous role as Head of Finance with ability to operate independently.
• Experience with SaaS / D2C / marketplace model
• Data-driven mindset with exposure to analytics and financial modelling.
• 8 (minimum) 15+ years in finance, accounting, or related roles
• Strong understanding of financial systems, compliance, and reporting
