Job summary

SEGULA Technologies in Chennai, India seeks an Accounting Specialist to manage day-to-day financial operations, GST compliance, and audit support. You will maintain ledgers, handle AP/AR, and generate MIS reports to guide leadership decisions.

The role requires strong Tally proficiency and meticulous bookkeeping with attention to detail in a global engineering group. This position offers on-site work in Chennai.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Day-to-Day Accounting: record core financial transactions using Tally ERP / Tally Prime.
• Maintain general ledgers and perform account reconciliations.
• Manage AP/AR workflows to optimize cash flow and stakeholder relations.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor daily cash movements.
• Prepare GST filings and ensure statutory compliance.
• Assist month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
• Generate MIS reports and financial statements for leadership.
• Support external/internal audits with documentation.
• Maintain audit-ready filing systems (physical and digital).

Key Responsibilities

• Day-to-Day Accounting: Manage, record, and maintain core financial transactions—including sales, purchases, payments, receipts, and journal vouchers—using Tally ERP / Tally Prime.
• General Ledger & Bookkeeping: Maintain precise general ledgers, perform continuous account reconciliations, and ensure pristine bookkeeping standards.
• AP/AR Management: Take ownership of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable workflows to optimize cash flow and maintain strong vendor and client relationships.
• Banking & Cash Flow: Conduct regular bank reconciliations and track daily cash flow movements to maintain liquidity awareness.
• GST & Statutory Compliance: Prepare GST-related filings/data and ensure seamless compliance with local statutory tax requirements.
• Financial Closings: Assist in accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing procedures.
• Reporting & Analytics: Generate insightful Management Information System (MIS) reports and financial statements to guide strategic decision-making.
• Audit Support: Serve as a key point of contact for external and internal auditors, preparing supporting documentation to ensure smooth audit cycles.
• Document Management: Maintain neat, audit-ready physical and digital filing systems for all financial transactions and supporting documentation.

What We Are Looking For

• Tally Proficiency: Hands-on experience operating Tally ERP 9 and/or Tally Prime.
• Core Accounting Expertise: Strong fundamentals in double-entry bookkeeping, AP/AR, bank reconciliation, and financial reporting.
• Taxation Knowledge: Practical familiarity with GST preparation and statutory compliance.
• Attention to Detail: High accuracy in numbers, reconciliation, and documentation control.
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to translate raw financial data into meaningful MIS reports for management.
