Job Description

• SME Credit Underwriting: Create internal metrics to evaluate customers who wish to be extended credit for their purchases on our platform.
• Budget (Annual Operating Plan): Assist or fully create the budget, including incorporating historical data.
• Business Finance: Provide financial reporting and analysis to guide decision-making.
• Leadership: Mentor and manage the accounting and financial staff.
• Cost Savings: Identify efficiencies and opportunities for cost reductions across the business.
• Invoicing: Ensure invoices are properly approved and coded in the general ledger.
• Cash flow management: Monitor and balance cash flows into and out of a business to meet obligations and optimise investment.
• Audit liaison: Coordinate with external financial, compliance and tax auditors.
• Internal controls: Create and monitor company policies and internal controls, especially spending controls, to safeguard company assets and reduce fraud.
• Debt management: Administer loan agreements for company borrowings and collect money owed to the company from customers.
• Financial strategy: Develop financial strategy, including risk minimisation plans and opportunity forecasting.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with local law, tax provisions and relevant industry and financial regulations.
• External Reporting: Prepare company tax and financial statements.
• Banking: Set up bank accounts and manage banking relationships. Help set up partnerships with NBFCs.

The Successful Applicant

• Proven experience as CFO, Finance Head or relevant role.
• In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP).
• Ability to strategize and solve problems.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
• Chartered Accountant (CA) is a strong advantage.
• BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus.
