Job summary

Adani Group in India is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to oversee finance and accounting for Ports business, including budgeting, MIS, treasury, and regulatory compliance. The role emphasizes governance, controls, and strategic decision support.

You will lead budgeting (OPEX/CAPEX), consolidate reports, monitor performance, manage working capital, and drive process improvements. CA with 10+ years of experience in large organizations or port setups is required.

Qualifications

  • CA with 10+ years of experience in finance & accounts
  • Experience handling end-to-end finance operations in a large organization or port/infrastructure setup
  • Strong exposure to balance sheet finalization, statutory audits and regulatory compliance

Responsibilities

  • Lead annual OPEX & CAPEX budgeting, consolidation, review and finalization with timely approvals
  • Monitor monthly/quarterly/annual revenue, cost and profitability; recommend corrective actions
  • Provide financial evaluation and decision support for capex and investment proposals
  • Ensure timely preparation and circulation of monthly MIS reports and coordinate performance reviews
  • Oversee preparation, analysis and review of financial statements as per applicable standards
  • Analyze expenses, receivables and working capital trends; drive operational efficiency
  • Manage cash flows, liquidity and short-term investments
  • Strengthen internal controls and closure of audit observations
  • Ensure completion of statutory audits within defined timelines
  • Ensure GST, EPCG compliance and other statutory requirements
  • Lead, coach and develop the finance team
  • Drive adoption of modern finance systems, technologies and best practices

Job description

Purpose/Objective

The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all finance and accounting functions for the Ports Business, including budgeting, financial planning & analysis, management information systems (MIS), accounting, treasury management, working capital management, receivables management, statutory compliance, audits, and financial reporting. The role is critical in driving business growth through strong financial governance, effective controls, compliance management, and strategic decision support.

Key Responsibilities of Role
  • Lead the preparation, consolidation, review, and finalization of annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets and ensure timely approvals.
  • Monitor and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue, cost, and profitability performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide financial evaluation and decision support for capital expenditure proposals and investment decisions.
  • Ensure timely preparation and circulation of monthly MIS reports and coordinate performance reviews.
  • Oversee the preparation, analysis, and review of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Analyze expenses, receivables, and working capital trends and drive operational efficiency.
  • Manage cash flows, liquidity positions, and short-term investment decisions.
  • Strengthen internal financial controls and ensure closure of audit observations.
  • Ensure completion of statutory audits within defined timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with GST, EPCG obligations, and all applicable statutory requirements.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance team.
  • Drive adoption of modern finance systems, technologies, and best practices.
