Job summary

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, part of Danaher, is seeking a Finance Controller for its India Finance team in Bangalore on-site. You will own accounting, financial reporting, taxation, and internal controls with accountability to the Finance Head SWA for Beckman Coulter India.

You will lead the local statutory audits, ensure US and local GAAP compliance, and drive process improvements across the finance function while managing a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant with 10+ years’ experience and 3–4 years of people management.
• Proficient in financial close and consolidation in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong in Compliance, Tax, Audit and Financial Accounting.
• Demonstrates integrity, teamwork, and leadership; self-motivated with multi-tasking ability.
• Strong in internal controls, standard works, and process re-engineering; able to manage a finance team.
• Excellent systems skills — Oracle, MS Office, SAP BW/Business Objects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure US and local GAAP compliance and tax planning consistent with company policies.
• Provide accounting, financial reporting, tax, treasury, payables management and internal controls.
• Lead timely closure of statutory audits, tax audits, and statutory financial/tax filings.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting: AP, inventory, fixed assets, intercompany, reconciliations, compliance.
• Recommend policy changes to align with business needs and regulatory changes.
• Recruit, motivate and develop a high-performing finance team.

The Finance Controller for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for Beckman Coulter India legal entity accounting, financial reporting, and taxation and would be responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls. This role will be responsible to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and provide advice with complete ownership and accountability of accounting, financial reporting, taxation in a timely and proactive manner.

This position is part of the India Finance team located in Bangalore and will be on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the India Finance team and report to the Finance Head SWA responsible for finance partnership for Beckman Coulter India Legal Entity. If you thrive in fast-paced finance supporting role and want to work to build a world-class finance organization-read on.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Responsible for compliance with US and local GAAP rules and regulations in accordance with Company procedures and periodically review and re-evaluate accounting practices to ensure conformance with US and local GAAP practices and for tax planning and compliance with direct and indirect tax laws including transfer price.
• Responsible for providing accounting, financial reporting, tax, treasury, payables management and satisfactory internal audit and controls.
• Lead and ensure timely closure of local statutory audit, tax audits, submission of statutory financial and tax filings & assessments including monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting as per timelines and in accordance with Company Standard Financial Close Procedures and US GAAP guidelines.
• Oversee the general accounting function including day to day routine activities such as accounts payable, inventory, asset capitalization, inter-company accounting, balance sheet reconciliations and statutory compliances.
• Review, Formulate anticipating changes to policies and procedures in line with the changing requirements of the business and regulatory environment as assigned by Finance Head.
• Recruit the best, motivate, and develop team.

Experience required:

• Chartered Accountant 10+ years’ experience including 3-4 years of minimum people management experience.
• Must demonstrate proficiency and experience in the financial close and consolidations process and the ability to work in a fast-paced, success-driven organization that operates with the mantra Best Team Wins!
• Strong experience and understanding of Compliance, Tax, Audit and Financial Accounting.
• Strong Integrity and though process; interpersonal skills; Teamwork & leadership skills; Self-motivated; and ability to multi-task.
• Strong in Internal Controls and able to build Standard works and process re-engineering, understanding operational accounting & able to manage a finance team.
