Job summary

Nava is seeking a Finance Controller to lead financial controllership, planning, compliance, and global finance operations from its Bengaluru base. The role partners with leadership on strategic decisions and drives scalable financial processes across multiple entities.

Ideal candidates will have CA qualification and 8–12 years of experience, including Big 4 and startup exposure, with strong accounting, taxation, and cross-border finance skills.

About Nava

Nava is building next-generation AI infrastructure and cloud platforms. As we continue to scale across multiple geographies, we're looking for a Finance Controller to build strong financial processes, ensure robust compliance, and partner closely with leadership on strategic financial decisions.

This role will own financial controllership across entities, drive process excellence, and play a key role in supporting our global expansion.

What You'll Do

Financial Controllership

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process across multiple entities.


• Ensure timely preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.


• Maintain strong internal financial controls and continuously improve accounting processes.


• Oversee general ledger accounting, reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, and statutory reporting.

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.


• Prepare monthly MIS reports, board reports, and financial dashboards with actionable insights.


• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and key financial metrics to support business decision-making.


• Perform variance analysis and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.

Compliance & Taxation

• Ensure compliance with all direct and indirect tax regulations across applicable jurisdictions.


• Manage statutory audits, internal audits, tax audits, and regulatory filings.


• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, company secretaries, and regulatory authorities.


• Ensure compliance with FEMA, RBI, GST, TDS, Companies Act, and other applicable regulations.

Global Finance Operations

• Manage accounting and finance operations across India and international entities.


• Work closely with Employer of Record (EOR) partners, payroll providers, and finance teams across multiple countries.


• Support intercompany accounting, transfer pricing coordination, and multi-currency transactions.


• Establish scalable finance processes to support global expansion.

Strategic Finance

• Support fundraising, investor due diligence, and financial data room preparation.


• Assist with M&A transactions, financial due diligence, and integration activities.


• Build financial policies, SOPs, and governance frameworks.


• Partner with Commercial, Legal, HR, and Operations teams on strategic business initiatives.

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor the finance team while driving a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.


• Build scalable finance operations that support the company's growth.

What We're Looking For

• CA qualification is mandatory.


• 8–12 years of experience, with a mix of Big 4 and high-growth startup experience preferred.


• Strong expertise in financial controllership, accounting, taxation, and statutory compliance.


• Experience managing multi-entity and cross-border finance operations.


• Exposure to fundraising, investor reporting, audits, and corporate finance.


• Strong understanding of Indian accounting standards and international finance operations.


• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Zoho Books, or similar.


• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.


• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience in technology, cloud infrastructure, SaaS, AI, or data centre businesses.


• Experience supporting international expansion across APAC, Europe, or North America.


• Familiarity with transfer pricing, ESOP accounting, and global payroll structures.
