Job summary

FalconX is seeking a Finance Associate for its Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting team in Bengaluru. You will be responsible for preparing full financial statements from scratch, handling technical accounting matters, and supporting M&A accounting.

The ideal candidate has a Big 4 advisory background and deep domain knowledge in financial services. Key duties include drafting US GAAP/IFRS statements, statutory compliance, complex disclosures, and system/process improvements.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years in technical accounting and financial reporting.
• Big 4 advisory background preferred.
• Strong background in Financial Services and complex financial products.
• Ability to prepare full financial statements and notes independently.

Responsibilities

• Draft end-to-end US GAAP/IFRS financial statements including Balance Sheets, P&L, notes and disclosures.
• Ensure statutory reporting and compliance.
• Handle complex technical accounting and disclosures for financial instruments.
• Support M&A accounting activities and business combinations.
• Assist with reporting platform enhancements and system implementations.

About The Role

We are seeking a Finance Associate to join our Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing full‑fledged financial statements from scratch, managing technical accounting matters, and supporting M&A accounting transactions. The ideal candidate brings a strong Big 4 advisory background, deep domain knowledge in financial services and products, and a proactive mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Statement Preparation: Draft and prepare complete end‑to‑end USGAAP and IFRS financial statements from scratch, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements (P&L), Notes to Accounts and relevant Disclosures.
• Statutory Reporting & Compliances: Ensure compliance with applicable statutory accounting frameworks and technical standards.
• Technical Accounting: Handle complex accounting treatments and technical disclosures related to financial instruments and financial products.
• M&A & Deal Accounting: Support M&A accounting activities, business combinations, and special accounting projects.
• Systems & Process Improvement: Assist with reporting platform enhancements and system implementation initiatives.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

• Experience: 2–4+ years of relevant experience in technical accounting and financial reporting.
• Firm Background: Big 4 experience is strongly preferred, with a focus on client advisory or technical accounting consulting (rather than standard financial audit).
• Domain Knowledge: Strong background in Financial Services, with hands‑on understanding of financial instruments and complex financial products.
• Technical Mastery: Demonstrated ability to prepare full financial statements and notes to accounts independently.
• Communication & Aptitude: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Prior experience working with or implementation of Workiva platform
• Prior exposure to accounting advisory services or M&A transaction support.
• Experience or working knowledge of financial platform implementations.
